On this date in 1876 the Chicago Cubs played their very first game as the White Stockings beating the Louisville Grays 4-0

We are in a rain delay and won't start on time but there will be baseball today

Cubs lineup

Dejesus-RF
Campana-CF
Castro-SS
LaHair-1B
Soriano-LF
Stewart-3B
Clevenger-C
Barney-2B
Volstad-P

I like this lineup, no complaints

Cardinals

Holliday-LF
Beltran-CF
Freese-3B
Molina-C
Descalso-2B
Robinson-CF

Does Molina catch every game?

Usually about 140 a year, this would be 18 of 19 so far this year

What does the weather look like? Gameday says “Delayed”

Always when it's on WGN and I use the DVR. That means I'll miss getting the end again!

That is likely the best lineup we can put on the field right now.

I’m surprised, I figured Sveum would try to sneak Dewitt in there this series, maybe for Barney? Glad to see I’m wrong. If I’m the Cubs I’d cut lose Baker and Dewitt and bring up Cardenas and Amezega. But that’s just me.

1st out, but DeJesus seems to be getting behind the ball lately.

Yep, he hit one pretty deep yesterday as well. He's about due for a HR.

Not an awful at bat for Campy. He did see a lot of pitches.

True, would have been nice to get on base, but not all for nothing. Castro gets on.
