Some people were actually laughing when Dan Bernstein told them that he had an MRI because a weight lifting related accident. Every day, there is always something wrong with this guy. He's starting to become a distraction on this team and the season has barely started.

I don't want to say good, but I was (and still am) really worried that they're going to give this guy a fat new contract. That would be a terrible mistake, IMO. Too bad for Tyrus though. never want to see a guy get hurt.

I think he's trade bait.

I still think Tyrus Thomas can be a good poor man's Dennis Rodman. Too bad he sees himself as a poor man's Kevin Garnett. The guy is not as good at scoring as he thinks he is. He needs to stop shooting the ball every time he gets an open look.

I'm getting tired of him shooting that 17 footer all the time. Albeit, he is making them more often but I'm skeptical that it will continue. All it will do is encourage him to shoot more. I want guys like Deng, Salmons, Hinrich, Miller, Pargo, and Rose taking those shots.....not Tyrus.

He seems to just be doing it to make himself more valuable come contract time. I really can't stand the guy. If he just played a to his strengths he'd be very useful.

"If he just played a to his strengths he'd be very useful."

Definitely. Tyrus is a major headache. He has so much potential but Tyrus has really high expectations for himself. Like you said, he doesn't play to his strengths. I always say he should wait for the ball to come to him (i.e. waiting for someone to find him open under the net or be waiting under the net for offensive rebounds) but Tyrus does the opposite...he MAKES the ball come to him.

wonder what the guy we traded for tyrus has been doing? Aldridge wasn't it?

Tyrus can be productive when he gets minutes. The problem is Vinny doesn't play him that many minutes. I still don't like Vinny's rotation or timeout management. He barely played Noah in 2nd half yesterday, and while Gibson is ok, he is getting too many minutes.

I'll just say he's better than tyrus, but hey, the bulls did get khryapa back in that deal. what a horrible trade.

back to tyrus, how much was he trying to lift? this guy's a mor-on if he gets hurt lifting weights. only an idiot that lets his ego get in the way would get hurt lifting. if it's too much, you set the weight down and either quit your reps or go with a lighter weight.

"wonder what the guy we traded for tyrus has been doing? Aldridge wasn't it?"

I have no 2nd thoughts about that. Tyrus was considered by some as the best talent in that draft. It was a really weak draft that year and of course the Bulls get the #2 pick the year when there are no Carmelo Anthonys, Kevin Durants, or Emeka Okafors available. The only guy I'm a little bit upset about is Brandon Roy. Everyone before the draft were really high on Roy and they turned out to be correct for once. In a draft with a bunch of projects like Barnani, Thomas, and Aldridge, why not take a sure thing like Roy?

I think since Bulls already had Kirk and Gordon, they wanted a big man who can score in paint. I still wanted them to draft Roy, but Bulls have made some bad picks in draft. Tyrus is only 22 but we'll see in the coming if Tyrus will amount to anything. I know this is most likely his last season with Bulls.

Maybe James Johnson will get some playing time now that Tyrus is out.

I really see Pargo as Gordon's replacement. Pargo's minutes is the minutes Gordon would have gotten (Reinsdorf said that Gordon would be the #4 guard on the team) and I think Pargo's shooting is not that much worse than Gordon. Both of them are mediocre on defense.
