Today I read an article in which Sam Smith said LeBron would most likely stay in Cleveland, but second most likely go to the Los Angeles Lakers. He explained why LeBron would fit there.

I emailed the following to Sam:

"Sam, Sam, Sam, LeBron can't go to the Lakers because he's coming to the Bulls."

Sam's reply "I forgot."

So Sam agrees, LeBron will be a Bull starting next season my friends.

Do you mind posting the article or piece that has him going to the Lakers? That makes almost no sense, I'd like to hear his reasoning.

It's frank, the chances of getting anything that makes sense from him are seriously low.....even easy things such as links.

LeBron won't be coming to the Bulls. #1 Cleveland can offer the most money on any deal including the "Bird" rights. #2 The Knicks will drastically go after James. #3 I seriously doubt the Lakers cause they don't have the cash and space. Only way would be a sign and trade where the 'Bird' rights would allow the Lakers to go over the cap.

It's DeWayne Wade and Chris Bosh who the Bulls need to go after.

Thanks.

Interesting read, but he doesn't address how that would work salary wise...

Bynum + Odom + Kobe + Lebron + Gasol?? How does that work financially? Even if you take out one of Bynum+ Gasol.

No matter how hard the Knicks try, I have a hard time believing LeBron would choose the Knicks. They're soooo far off from any other possibility.

He also talked about LeBron joining Wade in Miami as a strong option.

The positives for LeBron in Chicago:

- A huge market.
- Chicago would embrace a superstar like LeBron.
- He would have a better chance of meeting Coach Ditka.

He'd constantly live in Jordan's shadow. There's no hope in that.

LeBron will stay in Cleveland, no doubt in my mind.

If any superstar ends up in Chicago, it will be Dwayne Wade.

Jordan's shadow would be a motivator to a superstar like LeBron. Besides, players all over the league live in Jordan's shadow. They don't have to play in Chicago for people to say "but Jordan did it better."

Marv Albert nearly choked last night when he was told Sam Smith said that LeBron is going to the Lakers. "Is LeBron going to take a pay cut?" Albert replied.

"If any superstar ends up in Chicago, it will be Dwayne Wade."

I still say Dwayne Wade and Derrick Rose on the same team is a bad fit. The opportunity for this to be Dwayne Wade's team has passed a long time ago. This is Derrick Rose's team for the next 10+ years and no one is going to take the ball out of his hands with the game on the line. The Bulls need Chris Bosh much more than Wade.

How the heck can the Lakers take him on? Aren't they close to $20M over the cap? IDK, I'm confused by the NBAs salary cap.

I agree, I think Bron stays in Cleveland, but I disagree on the star. I think Bosh is #1 on the Bulls list, not that I agree, but I think that's then guy they'll target.

Yeah, it'd take a lot of menuvering (sp) to get LeBron in LA and the onyl way it could happen is a sign and trade and Cleveland would never agree to that.

I don't think it would be a bad fit. With Wade and Rose they would have the best back court in league, and Rose could set up Wade. Rose can dominate a game without scoring and Wade lead the league in scoring last year. They would make a lethal combo. That being said I think Bulls will target a big man like Bosh or Amare.

Exactly how is a point guard and a shooting guard a bad fit on any team? If it were Chris Paul and Dwayne Wade, then yes, bad fit, but Rose is never going to be the teams leading scorer and it allows Wade to do what he does best...move without the ball then slash when he gets it.

"Rose can dominate a game without scoring and Wade lead the league in scoring last year. "

Rose's PPG was very similar to Wade in his rookie year. In fact it was better. I expect Rose to eventually be scoring 25 points a game and Rose probably should be averaging 30 but I'm keeping my expectations relatively low.

"Rose is never going to be the teams leading scorer"

You're wrong. Rose will be averaging 25 points per game by his 3rd season. He'll be a better scorer than Ben Gordon. Having two guys capable of scoring 30 a game is not good. That usually ends up bad....remember Shaq and Kobe?
