So can we get this guy next year as our true leadoff man and 2nd baseman??? A move that should've been made a few years ago already. I think he'd love playing in Chicago rather than with Baltimore too.

Haha, I know, I was being facetious since there were several threads on this in months past. Another reason why this Cubs organization never seems to make the right moves with the right players at the right times.

Like I said before, the Cubs will sign Cano, Sizemore, Figgins, Winn and Roberts, some time in 2014, when they can either barely hit or play the field without a cane. Cub fans always come up with these good ideas for trades. About two years later, when the targetted player is already in decline, the Cubs consider signing said player. But if they do sign him, it's usually an additional 2 or 3 years after that.

You might as well prepare yourself for our middle infield next year consisting of Theriot and Baker with Fonty as Baker's platoon partner. We'll have the worst overall middle infield in the league for the 2nd straight year.

Right, cuz guys who sign new contracts never get traded.

Ever.

I wish I was like some others on this mb, and knew everything. How cool would that be!

you're right after all these years of rumors that he will be traded to us now that he finally signed his extension with Baltimore we will finally land him!

yes it would have been nice to get him but it's not happening...people really need to move past this and live their lives!

They have never really been interested in trading him. Now that he has signed his extension, it is even less likely.
