    • What if the yankees and Twins changed places for one inning

Instead of a umpire making one of the worst calls against the Twins which pretty much sealed that series.

Jeter hits a double down the line and it is called foul. Bases load and no outs and they don't score. Losing the game 4-3.

Wow we could hear the screaming from ny. The ny fans would be worse than any fan saying something now. They know they have bitten the bullet all year with the steroids and the media not caring. Remember John Rocker and his comments about ny'rs. They blasted him until he retired. Yet when several of their own have cheated it's ok Yet when the "CALL" went their way it was ok.

The ny fans say that inning wouldn't of changed if the call was right. Joe Mauer hits a double and is called right. They are saying he don't score on a single. That might be true but yet again he probably would score which makes the score for the Twins 4. If the momentum changes during that inning with a run the twins may have won the series. Who knows? What if's? Only if the umpire would of called the game right.
A called missed by that much made me wonder. With a nba official being caught betting and throwing games. Did this umpire do the same and if so has it been done before? 1996 with the yankees and Oriole game and a young boy reaching over the fence and snatching a ball that clearly wasn't a homerun. Turn back the clock even father. 1985, the Royals and the Cardinals. Teams taken out of the game by a bad call. Look at the cubs and steve bartman. Don't tell me a situation can't cause a team to fold. It can ask cub fans.

I don't know that I generally hold with conspiracy theories, but that call wasn't even close. It's one thing to miss a call by an inch or less, but the ball Mauer hit was fair by about a foot. It does sort of make you wonder.

Plus the leftfielder touched the ball before it landed fair.

One of my biggest problems is it seems to happen with the yankees and the ones that stick out are usually bad.

People seem to think that it couldn't happen but the NBA official who was fixing games is being released today from prison.

Wrong, play better and you don't have to blame the officials. I agree that the umpiring has been bad, but it was bad both ways in that series. Remember, Swisher did not leave third early in the one game and got called out on appeal.

That is baseball. It isn't perfect because you have a round ball and a bat. It makes it imperfect.

The nba thought they had good officiating too. The guy who fixed games is being released today from prison.
