Here is a list of Hall of Fame canidates to come.
Looks like selig better get some stuff done or retire before 2013.
2010 is the first player that his on field spitting incident may cost him votes with Roberto Alomar,
Barry Larkin is the rest of the best.

2012 looks like a player from the past joining the Hall.
2013 Roids, but by then you may have fans/baseball forgiving the players and saying oh well lets put bonds, clemens, biggio, piazza and sosa in. Will Mark McGwire lead the way in 2012? If not still look for excuses on why barry deserves to be in the hall. Schilling the best outside the roids.

What makes you think Schilling was PED free?

I don't know if he did or not. But I make every effort no to assume that anyone from that era was "clean". It's safer to assume that everyone was on one thing or another, and just stop caring. PED's are only a big deal to the media and the fans who are easily swayed by the media, imo.

I absolutely agree.

Why should we concern ourselves with players engaged in unethical, immoral and illegal activities that surround PEDs?

Records mean nothing. 73 homers is 73 homers and I don't care about the ethics used to get there.

Why care that PEDs became common among the very young in college and high school when we know the physical and psychological damage these drugs do? We don't care about the health of young people or their values. Just gimme 74 homers, baby!

I don't care about ethics, I don't care about the law and I certainly don't care about the health of young people. I am with you 100%.

Heck, I wish they would make PEDs legal, don't you?

One of the most noticeable side effects of PED use is the swelling of ankles which can cause minor bleeding during colder nights. At least so I've been told.

I don't know either way with Schilling. It wouldn't bother me either way if it came out. He is part of that era.

That's not what I was saying. I was saying that I don't assume anyone is clean. The past is the past, and it is what it is. As long as they they're not using them anymore, I'm willing to look forward.

I agree. A past crime spree should be forgotten. Nothing like that will ever happen again.

And, besides, everyone was committing the crime, so just forget it.

You know, when choholibay is in agreement with you, you have problems.

He is totally sociopathic when it comes to the Cards and especially so if it involves La Russa.

Just because big mouth Schilling was always yapping about others using sure doesn't mean he wasn't using also.

Hi, fatlady,

IMO, Robbie Alomar's a lock for the HoF; so are Larkin, Biggio, Maddux, Glavine, Frank Thomas, Jeff Kent, and *shudder* Curt Schilling. Coors Field had a massive impact on Larry Walker's numbers, but he played stellar defense (7 GGs) and had 230 career SBs plus a .313 career BA and an MVP. He's definitely on the bubble, much like Andre Dawson has been.

The rest, mostly because of PED controversy, probably won't get in any time soon despite their numbers. Guys like Dawson, Blylevn and Jack Morris should see induction before guys like Mac, Bonds, and Clemens.

Just my opinion.

I wish they would of already put the guys in that should of been in a long time ago. They have the stats equal to those in the Hall.

I think the peds will effect guys like Piazza as well. I have a feeling about him. He just fits the profile like Palmerio.

I think Alomar is a lock but he will have to face the facts if he isn't a first ballot. The media doesn't forget.

Jeff Kent? Do you think he has that big of chance? I look at him like Edmonds, Walker types. On the edge and could be left off easy.
I like Walker and hope he makes it but he has a hard way to get votes.

Hi, fatlady,

Jeff Kent gets in by virtue of the position he played - 2B. He retired with a .290 career BA, 377 home runs, 1,518 RBIs and a .500 SLG. His 351 HRs hit as a 2B are 74 more than the next closest 2B, HoFer Ryne Sandberg.

The 2000 NL MVP, Kent was a five-time AS and four-time SSer. He drove in more than 100 runs eight times (a record at the position), scored at least 100 runs three times and had at least 20 HRs 12 times. In 2008, he passed Ralph Kiner, Gil Hodges and Carlton Fisk on the all-time home-run list and passed Billy Williams, Dave Parker and Mickey Mantle on the all-time RBIs list. He's tied with Eddie Murray for 20th on the all-time doubles list with 560.

Plus, he didn't tolerate Barry Bonds' BS.

I never liked Kent that much, but he should see induction, IMO.

Opinions are what this board is all about, so I might as well give mine. Over the next 5 years the only two I would see as "locks" are Maddux and Glavine.

No doubt Maddux will be a 1st ballot inductee.Do you think he will be unanimous?
