Berkman gets $10 million for 2013, but has a $1 million buyout for 2014.

So, essentially, he's getting $11 million.

He needs 525 to 550 at-bats for his option to vest.

Puma's option vests at 550 plate appearances, not 550 at-bats.

That's a much easier goal.

Mo got bashed left and right for signing puma to a 1/8mil, and asking him to play RF during 2011. he had a MVP-7 season after looking like he was fading fast in 2010.

if he gets the leg healthy, his home park can be a big advantage for him.

He has 10 million reasons not too. It's not his fault some team is willing to pay him that for hitting 4 times a game max.

This is exactly what I suspected would happen with Berkman.

Some players just cant let go, but 10mil is a good reason to stick around.

He's done caughts that Jim Thome syndrome.

The Puma doesn't need no stinkin' knees.

mornin chief. could be done, all depends on his knee. he can roll out of bed and hit, just like edmonds could.

Not really, when healthy he can hit when not he can't. He was healthy in 2011. If his knees are better he will be able to contribute to the Rangers.

" He was healthy in 2011"

And I find that interesting.

You're not the only one.

"St. Louis columnist: 'I'm stunned' at size of Berkman's contract with Rangers "

They had a place to vote on the site, I was surprised that some thought he was worth it.

If he is worth $10 mil a year than so is Thome.

It all depends on how well his knees hold out.
