carpenter didnt have enough chances at 2b to comment on his range, the times there was ground balls, matt carpenter didnt turn double play, although it seemed alm,ost impossible to turn double play on those chances so it wouldnt be fair to judge him on that either
one thing i did notice though, is when covering 2nd, he did not have footwork to jump over and avoid sliding baserunner, so unless he gets time to work on getting out of way on runner and learn his footwork on double play balls, then he is just going to get drilled and injured playing 2b because he didnt dodge well enough to defend himself and his knee would get taken out unless he improves in that area
maybe if he could get an entire spring to work on that, it should be tried again, but right now he is a sitting duck at 2b
