Hello! I am a Cardinals fan from Taiwan. I have some suggestions to Matheny. My English is not good, so I just post one suggestion here. This forum doesn't support Chinese. Other suggestions I key in with Traditional Chinese, and upload to depositfiles. If someone understand it, please translate it into English and post it here. Thanks a lot^_^

i wish we could get carpenter in the lineup more.
i didnt see the game he played second so i dont have an opinion of that..
i do know he is a natural 3rd baseman.

it has really hurt the team that furcal's early season bat dissapeared..

Matt Carpenter played 2B just 1 game. When facing RHP, Descalso's batting is awful(.203/.276/.297). Schumaker is also better than Descalso. Maybe Carpenter or Schumaker should replace Descalso when facing RHP. That will be good for Cardinals.

Never happen. We hired a clueless ex-catcher whose fixation with defense is as bad as Willie's fixation with stupid.

Tell that to the 2011 Cardinals. Without Schumaker and Theriot's clutch hits, we never see the World Series.

the overall belief that we can win without defense on this mb is absurd..

with riot at short an skip at second we would never even got to the dam playoffs..
trading colby and playing jay.in CF ALSO improved our defense last season..

carpenter didnt have enough chances at 2b to comment on his range, the times there was ground balls, matt carpenter didnt turn double play, although it seemed alm,ost impossible to turn double play on those chances so it wouldnt be fair to judge him on that either

one thing i did notice though, is when covering 2nd, he did not have footwork to jump over and avoid sliding baserunner, so unless he gets time to work on getting out of way on runner and learn his footwork on double play balls, then he is just going to get drilled and injured playing 2b because he didnt dodge well enough to defend himself and his knee would get taken out unless he improves in that area

maybe if he could get an entire spring to work on that, it should be tried again, but right now he is a sitting duck at 2b

i have no idea why skip hasnt been playing, matheny apparently doesnt like him or skip has some injury not disclosed to media

if skip is healthy, he should be starting against every right handed pitcher

I know that Carpenter has few chances at 2B. I list him just because he is the best batting player on Cardinals bench now. Schumaker is another good option to replace Descalso when facing RHP. Descalso played too much and he reduces Cardinals offense when facing RHP.

carp 2 is a guy i like..he just plays the wrong position.

i agree for this year at least carp cant play 2b, hed just get injured and should only be used there in emergency situations in extra inning games

however if they want to give him a chance to improve and work on it and try in spring training next season, i have no problems with that, i think it wasnt the worst with skip, though the chances of it working decently again are slim. Carpenter just doesnt have the footwork and agility to avoid collisions at the bag and will screw up his knee if he plays there too much

Cardinals will face Jeff Karstens tomorrow. This year Descalso faces him 3 times, and strikes out 3 times. Matheny shouldn't let Descalso be the lineup. Tommorow's game is a tough battle to Cardinals.

Cardinals lost the game today. I feel so sad. Losing the long extra at home attacks morale.Cardinals offense is not good recently. Sometimes conservative tactics like bunt may be much better than bat. According to the situation calling for different tactics is important. Always doing the same thing will fail easily. Sorry, I don't know how to say it in English. In Chinese I can say it more appropriate.

1. Schumaker - 2B (L)
2. Jay - CF (L)
3. Holliday - LF (R)
4. Craig - 1B (R) - Hits no matter where he is placed. 2nd best hitter in the line up. Let him drive in runs.
5. Beltran - RF(S) - .323 hitting 2nd, .266 hitting 4th. Only .237 since all star break.
6. Molina - C (R)
7. Freese - 3B (R) - .263 hitting 5th, .404 6th, .352 7th. Small sample size but seems more relaxed down in the line up.
8. Furcal - SS (S) - .212 since June 1. Probably should just play Jackson.

I like Beltran hitting 2nd more than anywhere, but then Jay has to go to lead off and move Freese to 5th and Skip to 7th. I think that really weakens the line up. I think Jay should hit 7th but again forces Freese to hit 5th and moves Skip to 7th. I dont like Skip and Furcal hitting back to back. I agree if Carpenter could play 2B then the lineup could be much better. With Jay leading off and Carpenter hitting 2nd.

That lineup is not bad. Actually Cardinals need different batting lineup when facing RHP and LHP. Freese's batting was a little bad recently. Cardinals will face a righty tommorow. Matt Carpenter may be a good option at 3B tommorow.
