Let's get her right on rolling as the offseason is finally here!

Fresh off the ticker tape this morning? If Orlando Cabrera leaves as a FA, Twins are gonna target Hardy as their top choice in a trade. Nice thing about the Twins pitchers is nice K:BB, they hardly gave up any free passes. I'm cautious on Liriano and that's about it. Let's wait and see.

Go Doug Go!!!!!

I really won't want anyone from the Twins except Kevin Slowey. The article I am seeing is saying Baker and part of a trade but I don't think he would help us at all.

Anyone see the trades today White Sox getting Teahen from the Royals for Getz and Fields. And Red Sox got Jeremy Hermida from the Marlins for a pair of minor league pitchers Hunter Jones and Jose Alvarez.

I think it was a solid trade for the White Sox getting Teahen who can start in right for them next plus fill in at third. And Hermida is pretty much just a replacement for Baldelli.

My bad the article was saying Perkins not Baker.

Glen Perkins has been mentioned, too. I'd take Baker. His numbers would be much better in the NL.

Teahan is an upgrade over Dye. Gammons already posted an article on Hermida. Stuning

Mike Cameron - keep if he'll resign for cheap
Jason Kendall - let go unless there's no other options
Frank Catalanotto - keep
Craig Counsell - keep
Felipe Lopez - offer arb but don't pursue hard
Corey Patterson - let go
Claudio Vargas - keep in relief

Possible - Braden Looper - eh...let go unless we had the choice of keeping him and letting soup go
Possible - David Weathers - let go

Yeah, who saw Hermida getting traded? Or Teahen for that matter.

Just goes to show how deceiving speculated trades are, the ones that happen usually never get leaked unless they're blockbuster moves like CC last year or Lee this year.

Hermida was on the fast track to being non-tendered this off-season. The Fish did good to get something for him.

Teahan's name has been on the market for over a year. His name was thrown around in regards to the Cubs mostly.

Mike Cameron - keep if its a lesser contract

Jason Kendall - If the crew is serious about getting decent pitchers keep him. If we go with 3 or 4 Suppans in the rotation let go.

Frank Catalanotto - Wouldn't mind keeping, has the best music when he comes up

Craig Counsell - keep

Felipe Lopez - In a perfect world he'd be the new Counsell. But he's gone and we'll take the Class B free agent pick

Corey Patterson - cya

Claudio Vargas - Wouldn't mind keeping as a long man in the bullpen

Braden Looper - Only if cheap, just wish Suppan costed as much

David Weathers - maybe, only if cheap

Couple newslets:

- Doug is NOT going to pursue resigning Cameron. Too bad, Cam really grew on me. Good luck to him wherever he goes, he's a great veteran leader.

- Doug is looking to the FA market for pitching first it sounds like. Contacted Mulder's agent but no reply yet, I can't see any reason Mulder wouldn't wanna respond to interest though.

- Doug mentioned Lackey's name as a pitcher they're going to pursue. Likelihood he'll sign? Not good, probably, but still definitely worth pursuing just in case. Freeing up money today could mean they're looking to sign a big name. Even though the market is small, I really don't see why we couldn't sign another good position player if someone intriguing comes our way.

"Sore forearm" Lackey? That'll be money well spent

If they release looper and let kendall go they should have even more money.

Try more like a guy whose ERA hasn't been over 4.00 in 5 years and has averaged 30 starts in his past 7.

Tough not to like those numbers, I'd say its an okay investment even with his recent sore forearm issues. Better than Loop and Soup and their intercostal strains and over 5 ERAs...

Yeah, I'm curious what we're gonna do about catcher. If Lucroy keeps up his numbers in the AFL and hits well in AAA, we could be seeing him take the reigns this year.
