After sitting for over 6 innings. I go to the bathroom come back. I sit down at my seat. The brewers I believe turn a double play for the end of the inning. I hold up my sign at the end of the inning that I drew myself the night before that I spent hours on. At which point Officer "Bargas" badge #2754 approaches from behind we were in section 427 row 3 so behind us is the walk way from the entrance where handicap people can sit for ease of getting in and out. There was no one sitting behind us and he approaches and kicks a cardboard card at my brothers head and hits him in the side of the face. He
tells me "to get my stuff and come here."

So I start getting up and my brother is saying " What the heck did he just kick that at me for." He also tried asking the officer from his seat with no response. by that time i was walking up towards the office with my brother following wanting to know what would justify this.

Then the officer asked me to leave the premises because I was being vagrantly obscene and a public menace with my sign, the attendant has supposedly just told him there not allowed and hes asked me. So he also says " I'm removing your friend because everyone says you gotta go." Then he tells me " follow me and don't do anything funny or you'll go to jail." . Finally he answers my brother by saying "are you hurt." My brother replies "physically?". Then the officer approaches my friend and tells my friend to leave as well; but my brother who got something kicked into his face does not get kicked out of the park. He took our ticket and left both of us our stubs saying "leave or go to jail."

We are escorted out by officer "Bargas" the whole time I asked repeatedly for his supervisor. he kept responding No, under heavy refusal. I was also asking for a written statement as to why im being told to leave. Because I was told by the district attorney of racine, after being hit by a police cruiser in 2004 while walking. with nothing done. Cause I did'nt get a statement and i thought a cops word was worth something. specially when hitting you with a police cruiser. So short n sweet, I was told to always get a written statement when dealing with the police.

When we were at the door of the exit I asked again for his supervisor then a statement and "bargas" said "Heres your statement." and threw up a peace sign while him and an african-american female officer who i never saw again, laughed about it walking away. My friend then tried phoning the county police to get ahold of someone in charge to get a handle on what just happened... FORCIBLY REMOVED FROM A BREWERS GAME... WHEN CUSTOMER RELATIONS SAID IM OK.....This never happened. 15 calls and countless people and never got a hold of anyone with an answer. Just got handcuffed finger printed and ticketed a 175$ for disorderly conduct, treated like a crack dealer for supporting my team and making a sign. my cousin who's birthday was just last saturday coincidently was at the game with my aunt. Thank god he didn't have to witness this ridiculousness and mis-abuse of power.

I'd like to thank the Milwaukee Brewers staff for treating me like a crack dealer for coming out and supporting my team and note my sign said " Go Brewers GO" with a retro glove on it. I was not intoxicated at the time and said repeatedly after being arrested give me a Breathalyzer for court purposes. They threw our signs away even though my brother was never kicked out of the park or issued a ticket. They still felt it necessary to handcuff him tight enough to leave a mark on his and my wrist when he never said one word or resisted or anything was nothing more then compliant and talking with the officers, because when my friend was on the phone they said they were gonna send a supervisor to talk with us, and within a minute or so officers were there throwing us in handcuffs with no explanation. asking for a supervisor is well within my constitutional rights whenever confronted by a police officer, Which I also asked for the whole time I had been near officer "bargas".

Also im having a "gathering" to raise the piddly $175 and at the party..... I will be burning over 1000+ brewers home ticket stubbs and about 600+ away of every game I have ever been to in my life... includeing last game of county stadium... opening day of miller park, and the all star game. plus about 20 years of my life's worth of memorobilia...... IN SHORT EVERYTHING BREWERS WILL GO...... This is what i get for going to a brewers game and is the price of a sign. I never had a problem with this in over 1500+ games. so i will update this next with a youtube video of "me burning my favorite team the way they are burning me". This is what we served our country for (me and my friend) to come back not even 19 days after my birthday. First time to be able to do something and To be arrested at a baseball game for a sign. feel free to post your opinions on this as much as possible.

Note before all this i went to customer relations and was told by 3 different people. When i would be able to hold my sign, it was okay to hold my sign, and to hold it as much as i want....OH YA GO BREWERS THEY SAID AS WELL..... Also i had seats that they said were ok to have a sign in almost all the time as no one is rightfully behind me enough to impede there view. he said more like this " your row 3 on the 4th terrace. that means your in front of the walk and will be fine the whole game. so hold it up there high and have a good time." Thats as much as I'm gonna write because there are a million details and this really put a horrible taint on what the brewers have been to me and supporting your home team is about.

I read most of what you said. I think you should write a letter to the Brewers and explain what happened. Sometimes people working there don't do what they're supposed to do and you have to let the people in charge know otherwise they can't fix it.

I had a couple of situations there where I felt I was treated wrong. I wrote letters about it, and it seems like those problems have been corrected. Maybe they just need to train the security staff better and make sure they know the rules regarding signs and what is considered obscene, it doesn't seem like they know what those rules are.

Thanks for the story. Definitely let someone know within the Brewers organization know about what happened. The security officers are more or less a 3rd party that the Brewers hire. Telling the story on the message board is fine but don't forget to tell the organization. I have also been rubbed the wrong way by some of the staff that take their self-imposed power to a new level. Don't let a couple of security officers ruin your life-long passion of cheering for the Brewers.

If he was being too loud or obnoxious the security should have warned him first. But they told him his sign was obscene and if it really just said go brewers go..there's nothing wrong with that.

My advice...never sit in terrace. I will never sit up there again unless the tickets (and parking) are free.

they were free tickets....

just a general statement..

and there really isnt much to the story then i went to the bathroom came back and am being told to leave for being obscene.. later i heard another officer say while i was handcuffed . "its not being obscene its disturbing a public sporting event...." which is why i was removed ultimately and given disorderly conduct.... they were doing me "a favor" by giving me disorderly conduct for my sign.... we i wasnt drinking and was cheering for our home team... and a gentlemen also gave me his business card to be witness to that i wasn't disturbing his time or being obscene. he told me he loves when theres someone in his section that is willing to start a chant and cheer so he doesn't feel alone. Like that is all it was.. i only raised it after innings, when plays are over.. never standing up just sitting down holding it up.. sept for the time when the jumbotron said "stand up!!!"......

i came to realize why i was arrested....

im too hardcore a brewers fan.... i want them to wins so bad they have to arrest me cause when they lose they know its to tough for me to bare. so theyd rather not subject me to it..... i dont even know if they have won or lost cause... i havent much cared to look...

*UPDATE*

so i emailed the brewers and i received a call from someone claiming to be from the front office at miller park. That wanted to talk to me about the incident. i have it recorded and basically after listening 15 times.... he says they basically don't care, cant do anything, and the guy has worked there 7 years and they feel his efforts are very efficient(thats the park staff in blue).. and they assured me i wasn't supposed to be arrested for my sign. it was miscommunication, just ejected for disturbing a sporting event. Plus you are allowed to have signs.... your just not allowed to raise them according to mlb rules... you can raise them anywhere but in your seats or the stands. Unfortunately Guest relations didn't know this when they told me i can raise it.... And they don't know who worked guest relations that day, stating "because they shouldn't be liable for a honest mistake." and i should be happy im not banned from the stadium or mlb sporting events for 2 years for disrupting one.... Well i dont ever plan to go back to a MLB event so i could care less what favors people are doing me...... doing me a favor wouldve been not arresting someone for having a sign....

but on a crude blown out of proportion note...

IT DISRUPTS THE PLAYERS....

according to this guy.... Ben Sheets Saw me raising my sign and it totally threw off his game... so he told maddux, maddux called security and had em eject me, cause my sign was making a large shadow which covered the entire field. So in short SORRY BEN SHEETS FOR my sign MESSING YA UP..... (did not actually happen but front office guy "BEN" did say it couldve thrown off his game which was why i was ejected). and the 300+ games ive been to with signs out of 1500+ were flukes for not being ejected.....

even IF what you say is completely true I'm not surprised you would get that response. They are MLB, with high powered MLB lawyers. They probably just see you as some punk kid working on his high school diploma. Like if you actually sued them you would win.

Although I don't see how your sign could make a shadow and even if it did these guys are supposed to "be able to tune out small distarctions." I think if all this is true you got fed a line and you believed it.

Also just so you know it is illegal to record a telephone conversation if the other party doesn't know about it, so I wouldn't go around telling people this sort of thing, it can land you in jail... just ask Linda "Clydsdale" Tripp.

i was fed a line but i dont believe it...... whats the point to fight it its a 175 dollars. i can throw a kegger and raise the money.... and say screw the brewers.... im also donating all my memorabilia to various charity's. they just dont want to admit to doing wrong... cause they know they were.... whatever them seats are for soldiers watch out.. cause this soldier got arrested for sitting in his own seat.

and i did tell them it was recording. and thanks to the patriot act its not really that illegal. only if im intending to commit harm with the recording...or in a way such as where im making money off the call such as customer support. but legally you can record any incoming call....

This is a crappy situation, but you know, from what I heard about Sheets, maybe it is true. I don't want to believe it, but some say this guy is a head case...that his issues aren't injuries, but some sort of anxiety disorder. Did you see the way he chews his hands in the dugout??? Anyway,
I hope you can get past what happened and remain a fan. I have my own horror story regarding security..as it seems a lot of others do.

Maybe the security gaurd was illiterate and got mad at you for bringing a sign in? He probably got scared by the big fancy words and had to blame you for something.

Actually the patriot act has nothing to do with civillians recording phone calls. It has to do with the goverenment recording phone calls they believe are terrorist related.

haha you gotta love those goofy politicians and they're paper clip ammenments.

although I'm pretty sure it's not what you think it is, and you still did something illegal. BUT... that's waaay off subject. Next time offer the security member a doughnut? or just remind him that he's not a real police officer and needs to chill out a minute or two to realize it

unfortunetly i dont think i can put it behind me.. i feel to much shame. i tried to watch baseball since this and i get all depressed and goto sleep..... i think i need to go to a doctor and get some meds over this situation... cause its all to depressing.... on that note i think i need to take a nap.... when it happened i pretty much went home laid in bed and didnt get out until i started this thread...... so many years lost and ruined. My brother never did anything and he was still detained and strong armed. its just to much to have to deal with and its just easier and less depressing to not have to deal with baseball. handcuffs were never even necessary.. you got guns here. im 22 and i have a sign which you threw away. even as i play it over and over in my mind i pick up new things just because it was so crazy. im just glad when they started jacking me up.... that none of us ended up in one of those "Stop RESISTING" situations where they beat the pink out of you... it seemed like they wanted to do that... and my party was just to logical for the 1 park staff and the numerous mpd they needed for us..... i think a park staff could ask us to leave and we would've done it. you don't arrest i mean "detain" someone to leave for having a sign.... and it amazes me they said we were doing something wrong cause me and the other friend left the section for 5-10 minutes he was getting food and sat in a different section im not sure if it was by accident we havent spoken since. but when i came back they just were like "detaining me" and then got him. and he was pissed.... but i dont hold it against him.... it stinks cause we coulda sat in section 124 if we were gonna get arrested anyways

on a different note how many times is the click it or ticket campaign gonna begin... i see everyother week. click it or ticket is starting today, going in effect, whatever they keep saying.... but hasnt it been in effect forever. also on this note Wisconsin is the 4th worst state for teen accidents. so have teens be careful with the memorial day weekend approaching.
