That's scary. Seems like planes crashing into homes have happened a couple of times this past year. I thought I heard another one happened in Georgia recently.

I heard about this crash, do you know anything about the the people that were in the plane? It is always much scarier when things like this happen close to you. So, wncbrave do you live in Fairmont?

They were taken by helicopter to the local hospital.
And, I live in Fairview, NC. Just outside of Asheville a few miles.

Yeah, sorry I meant to say Fairview, but I had Fairmont on the mind as I was on ncpreps talking about the high school football playoffs. I was wandering because I live in Newton just on the other side of Hickory. So do you ever go to any of the minor league games for the Tourists?

I like to go on Thirsty Thursdays, $1.00 beer night. The place is packed.
Great entertainment. The Asheville Tourists are presently a Rockies farm club. They have been a Pirates, Reds, Orioles farm club in the past.
Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Pete Rose, Al Oliver, Willie Stargell, Dave Concepcion, Bernie Carbo, AL Bumbry, Todd Helton, and many, many others played on that field.

McCormick Field goes back to the 1920's, although the stadium was completely remodeled 15 or so years ago.

Yeah, I like thirsty thursday in Hickory too. The place is still packed after the game is over, its like people don't even know there was a game going on, but the beer sure is cheap. LOL! The Crawdads are currently the Rangers, but I know they have been the Pirates and the White Sox in the past. I am not sure of all the MLB players who have played in Hickory, but I do know the longest homerun I have ever seen hit was by Carlos Lee when he was playing here, it was an enormous shot. I also enjoyed watching Adam LaRouche last year (2008) when he was sent down for a rehab stint in Hickory and homered against Greensboro. Crawdads haven't been around nearly that long, though there did use to be a team in Newton called the Newton-Conover Twins many, many years ago.

Yes, an hour and a half west.
These mountains can be tricky.

I remember driving home from work one day and seeing a plane that had crashed on the road i drive along, and bounced into the front of a synagogue:-

Was surreal thinking that i could have been driving along and hit by the plane.

My daughter just found out her best friend was riding a horse at the stable around the corner and witnessed the plane going down.

Don't they check these pilots out before they issue a license to fly? That is terrible.

Eh, could be a number of reasons besides the pilot with single engine planes (assuming this was a single engine plane)...
