While Boras did lose out on his hope for 4 years/+40m, his client still did well.

Lol terrible signing. Who were they even bidding against? Huuuuuge overpay.

Great team on the field though, can't argue that.

Hector Gomez is reporting that the signing is real.

2 years, $28M. Yankees get the Nats pick. Better pray Mariano Rivera doesn't turn into Trevor Hoffman(when he hit 42/43).

Now Kyle Lohse and Michael Bourn are still waiting for jobs--and so his former Jay Kelly Johnson.

This guy is reporting it too: https://twitter.com/hgomez27

He's not that legit either, but seems to at least be a member of the media.

Boras doesn't lose too often. Didn't get everything he wanted here, but that's a pretty nice haul for Soriano. Nats will be filthy.

Soriano is good but with Clippard and Storen and the rest of that BP why would they want to spend all that money PLUS a draft pick on Soriano ???

You just don't know how Boras works though . He may have made a deal with them that he would allow Harper to sign a contract unlike his usual MO . He needs to save face .

Great move in my opinion. No such thing as too good of a bullpen.

The draft pick they lost was a late first rounder, hardly an impactful pick.

The money is lots but hey that's the owners problem

Odds that the 25-30 pick ends up being better than Soriano are pretty low.

This is a team than can win the WS, why not go for it?

Boras is an absolute stud. The ultimate alpha male. This guy needs to be studied in business classes for eternity.

Just got a decent reliever around 250K per inning

JUST ANOTHER DAY AT THE OFFICE

Just as an example, let’s take the 11th pick in the draft since the turn of the century. This is the best possible pick that can be surrendered as compensation for signing a free agent. From 2000 to 2012, those picks have been:

2000: Dave Krynzel
2001: Kenny Baugh
2002: Jeremy Hermida
2003: Michael Aubrey
2004: Neil Walker
2005: Andrew McCutchen
2006: Max Scherzer
2007: Phillippe Aumont
2008: Justin Smoak
2009: Tyler Matzek
....................2010: Deck Mcguire
2011: George Springer
2012: Addison Russell

You won bro

What a pointless exercise. This totally disregards all the excellent players taken after the 11th pick, including Trout and many other stars.

Not entirely. All it's saying is the pick given away for signing Soriano is more than likely NOT to have as much of an impact as Soriano.
