Are people really that scared off by the FA compensation? His 4+ WAR would look really good in CF if we got him on a (relatively) bargin deal. I know Boros... but there doesn't seem like much action.

Only realistic option is Texas--but they won't pay a first round pick, despite owning the Angels first round pick.

That's surprising as they have such a loaded farm system as is. I feel like they will end up signing him. They've already whiffed on quite a few deals this off season, so we know the money is there. There will be a bad backlash if Texas goes into the season with their current roster.

Bourn could be worth a 2nd round pick however... and then we get whatever return Rasmus would bring. I don't think I would be willing to commit more than 4 years however (which I'm not sure gets it done).

The guy has been remarkably consistent with a WAR over 4 for the last 4 years.

I'd trade Gose and one of Davis or Rasmus. If Bourn really has no options, I wouldn't any of those guys get in the way.

I'd totally be down for signing Bourn and swinging one of Rasmus/Gose. I'd target a 2BOTF, like Ackley, Franklin, Hamilton, or Rendon.

Yeah, sign Bourn for a discount, trade Gose for Ackley or Franklin+? Sounds like a great idea to me. I know the Mariners don't have a need for OFs but that doesn't really seem to deter them from trading for them.
