It would be funny if he came back begging.

If I was Alex I'd take him back and send him to Rookie ball.

Really no point in punishing him. What he did what within the terms of their agreement.

It's possible he was getting the impression that he simply might not get a fair chance in Toronto, and he may have been right.

"Really no point in punishing him. What he did what within the terms of their agreement."

Sure.

And seeing it was he who felt it was time to move on for bigger and better and hasn't found it. There's nothing wrong with letting him to continue to look.

AA got him before, because no one wanted him then.

There's no way the Jays would ever call him up in the middle of Interleague play even if he had had more than one good game. If Bean Stringfellow has any sense , he told Vlad that in addition to being a stupid couter-productive move, his ultimatum couldn't have been more ill-timed. He basically guaranteed his release and turned himself from a merely depreciated asset to a toxic one as well. You don't issue an ultimatum when you're the only one who has anything to lose.

Is it that, or another case of an agent giving bad advice to his client?

What kind of an agent tells a DH only player to issue an ultimatum in the middle of interleague play? There's just no way this wasn't Vlad's idea and I'd 99% guarantee Stringfellow tried to talk him out of it. The whole situation including Vlad's comment screams athlete with an over-inflated ego.

Lol sorry... I didn't get a good rant in when it happened so I'm catching up. Not really addressed at you.

I preferred him in the 5 or 6 hole thank you. You can't seriously argue that Lind would be better at driving in runs in crucial times of the game over Vlad would you?

Vlad's antics blew it. He and his agent turned a gentleman's agreement into a childish standoff.

Well other teams take notice , and if the Blue Jays don't want him when they need help driving in runs and getting consistent atbats. Then he must be really no good.

So teams will stay away.
