Dopirak in Venezuelan league hitting .313/.405 3HR .927OPS not a great league though.

Cooper .269 .387OBP 1HR
Loewen .171 1HR 17SO in 35AB ouch.
Emaus .226

Ray 4.50 ERA in 10IP 13H 3BB
Reidier Gonzalez 3.00ERA in 9IP 12H 1BB - I still have hope for this guy, hope he starts in AAA next year.

Pretty ugly fall league, that's for sure.

I don't know if I have hope of any of those guys really being a big part of this teams future. Cooper might still figure it out, but I see a lot of major league cup-of-coffee's on that list. I hope I'm wrong of course, but fear I might not be.

Darin Mastrionni just got added to the AFL. Has only played 3 games but nice to see another guy out there.

Emaus has also heated up lately, now hitting .314

Mastro is listed as OF, but did play CF for almost all of his year in A and AA and Emaus is listed as 2b.

THX - I heard Mastrionni was a speedy type OF maybe he is what we are looking for.

That's right, he stole 70 bags between Dunedin and New Hampshire. \

Made no errors in 70 games in New Hampshire but did make 5 in Dunedin. His defense is above average with a decent arm. He's a contact hitter with a good eye, walks almost as much as he strikes out.

But has no power at all.

I should go look him up but he is likely still fairly young. He has a lot of good qualities maybe some power will develop and if it doesn't he will need to keep his methods sharp to get a high OBP.

While not super-young(24), he's not out of the realm of possibility of making the team next year in a rebuild or for some speed off the bench which I'm sure we all know the Jays have sorely lacked.

He's kind of in the same boat as Dopirak, he has to make it soon or he will get a cup of coffee at best and likely be a career minor leaguer.

Well, the good thing is that as unimpressive as our minors look right now, it either won't mater next year and we'll have some time to restock the system before we need to lean on it, or if we rebuild we should almost instantly shoot up the depth charts.

I was interested in this Mastrionni as I think he is the prototype we need both in the OF and at the top of our order. His D sounds solid and if he can be a high OBP guy at the top of the order I like him. Whether we keep Wells or not I think the guy should play LF. Just my thoughts.

I think any shot of him making the team next year will depend solely on what happens in the off season.

If by some miracle we are able to part with Wells, the only semi-OF we have (assuming we re-sign Bautista) would be Baustista, Snider, Lind and Inglett off the bench (God help us), and then only maybe if AA doesn't sign some middle of the pack FA would Mastro get a shot at the bench... maybe.

Lets not forget his highest level so far has been AA, it was last year and only 70 games. With no power at all it's not typically a guy you would look at for a roster spot unless he rips it up in spring training to the point where you just can't say no. I envision he starts the year at AA.

I agree we are knocking scenerios around without knowing the direction of the team for sure. I still think we need a guy like this, maybe one more advanced like Brantley from CLE. Worth keeping an eye on this kid for sure. I really see Bautista and Inglett gone in this offseason.

I see both Bautista and Inglett staying, in a rebuild scenario. Inglett is cheap, can play IF and OF, hits from the left, can bunt, decent baserunner, cheap... perfect bench guy and insurance if Hill goes down with injury.

Bautista is the same for the OF. His arm is great, good range, can play all 3 OF positions and corner IF in a pinch. Another good guy to have on the bench. He's not as cheap but still, in a rebuild there's no real need to go out and find new bench players when we already have capable ones. If we were gearing up for a world series push, yeah, might want to find some better options.

I would change it up. Inglett plays a very poor OF and can't really play 3rd or SS. Second base is his best spot and he won't see the field unless as you say Hill get hurt. Bautista can fill out a lot of positions but at 2.4m are there other options. Flip a coin on him.

Brantley's supposed to be starting in Cleveland this year due to LAPORTA'S SURGERY THAT HE MENTIONED AWHILE AGO.

So if we were to pull Brantley from the Tribe it'd be for something very worth their while and maybe not so much ours.

THX and yes we would have to ante up for him. I have also stated many times " or someone like " a Grady Sizemore or Ellsbury. I guess I will leave the targeting to AA.

Box Score from yesterday showed J Chavez having a good game, and Dopirak hit another dinger.

the only pitcher we have in Winter ball doing anything close to decent is Reider Gonzalez.
