I just saw the replay of Pence's gem on Heyward last night, and, maybe it's not a big deal to most people, but I thought it was a very classy thing of Heyward to do to tip his cap to Pence.

He's a young guy with all kinds of potential, and he has started his MLB career with a bang...and he does a veteran classy move like that. Great to see that from such a young player.

P.S. The kid is going to be a beast.

Agree.

Definitely a class thing to do.

We need more of that from all teams including the Astros

Yeah, I saw that too. Nice move. From the accounts I've heard he has a world-class head on his shoulders in addition to the world-class athletic talent.

I LOVED that he did that. Sure showed that he respects the game and when it's played well. I hope he has a long, successful career.

Reminds me of how Milledge came up and acted like a complete turdbasket.

Heyward looked... very angry...
Some gives you a glare like that...
wide berths are in order...

lol

To me that makes it even better show of class.
I mean you can see what was going on in his head with a face like that.
He got past all the "that Son of a ____" and "that mother____" and end up with "nice play" before he turned to leave the field.

He's a very good young player. I can hardly wait to see what he does over his career.
From the both of them that is.

I agree. Nice to see the respect. They mentioned on the broadcast that he's mature beyond his years. Something about Cox saying he's a 20-year-old with the maturity of a 30-year-old.

2010 Rookie of The Year. Just like Braun a few years ago. Can he maintain? We'll see. We know who finished second the year Braun won and hasn't fulfilled his potential.

I believe it was Pence that finished second to Braun in the ROY

I agree, I'm already liking this kid, very classy.... He doesn't think he's THE <shit like Braun. Hopefully he'll continue to have a good head on his shoulders as he matures.

Thanks, from a Braves fan. A classy reaction from fans fallen on hard times. That's awesome. Good luck going forward.

Yea, he's the effing man. Every single game he made us pay.

I'm happy to see players like him,Albert, and Ryan Howard play at my decent age. I'm in for some record breaking goodness.

T-bone is right. Tulo finished 2nd in ROY balloting in 2007. Pence was a distant 3rd.

The Braves did a great job of keeping Heyward under wraps in the lead-up to the 2007 draft. I'm pretty sure that every team that picked before the Braves is kicking themselves for letting Heyward slip down the draft board like that.

My bad. All three were rookies the same year. Looked it up after I posted.

Welcome to our board.

It's hard NOT to like a guy who seems to love the game so much, has talent, a good head on his shoulders, is smart, and did I mention talented, talented, and talented! Good luck this season. You guys always seem to have some of my favorite players on your team. Looks like there is another one!
