If he gets to 300 HR, 1,500 RBI, 400 SB and right around a .900 OPS, I'd have to consider him a lock. He's just about done everything you a person can do offensively.

He'd be a lock for me given his all-around good numbers and play.

The problem will be that he's never been an elite player at any one thing, and hasn't won many accolades. (*I* don't care about the accolades, but it's something that the voters look at.) The lack of recognition he has gotten is a crime.

Yeah, sadly it isn't looking too good for him at this point. If he had been a Yankee more than just 2-3 years then he'd have been a lock...

I was a proponent of acquiring Abreu since before we acquired Lee. His OPS+ is awesome and he runs well on the bases.
