Hanley Ramirez is on the block, would it be possible to get him. Morales and Aybar for Ramirez and some other bells and whistles.

That would be nice but the Aybar contract is the issue again.

Where did you see that he is on the block?

Not sure I like that idea.
Hasn't he had attitude issues?
After the Jose Guillen experience, not sure that would work well with the team or Scioscia.
Our Angels are good, I believe they can be great.
Patience may be what is needed just now.

I would rather give Segura a chance when he is ready. We already overpaid for Kendrick and Aybar why add another overrated infielder that makes too much.

The offense is fine. Callaspo is hitting like he did last year, but so are Aybar and Kendrick. We're scoring at least 5 runs almost everyday.

The problem is the pitching. We have no starting depth if guys go down (Williams is out, and Haren may follow him soon). Personally, I like our bullpen right now, but one more reliable arm can't hurt. Particularly for the postseason (if we make it).

Williams is on rehab and should be fine so pitching depth won't be a problem the problem is aside from from Weaver and Wilson our other pitchers are not pitching to their capabilities. Haren and Santana in particular are better than they have shown this season.

Santanana has shown signs he is ready to turn it around Haren is becoming a concern as the bad starts are starting to add up. Richards aside from his last bad start in Toronto has pitched better than our 3-5 guys so when Williams comes back this presents the depth problem that your concerned about.

I can see DiPoto making calls today to acquire a starter...Haren's prob is not going away with a 15-day DL...a lot more than that, IMO.

I like Padres' LHP Cory Luebke...do not know his status but if he's healthy he is worth a call, IMO.

Just gives Richards time to solidify his spot in the rotation.

Yeah, Luebke has some good numbers--even away from Petco. He's even done well in Colorado.

Good to see Amarista is starting to do well in San Diego. Good for him and the Padres.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that. I think it's been a great deal for the Angels and the Padres.

Of course, we know how good Frieri is doing, but Amarista is up to 4 HR, 16 RBI and a .290 Batting Average. And Donn Roach moved up to AA with 9 IP of 0.00 ERA, after 8 games at A+ with a 1.74 ERA.

Love it when trades help both teams.

Was not aware Amarista has stepped it up that much in that case maybe the Padres would make another deal that might help both of us :)

Well there goes that idea the angels are faced with some big decisions since we have little in the farm system dow we give up either Bourjos or Morales to get a much needed number 3 starter. People need to face facts Haren, Santana and Richards are not going to be that guy and we basically have 2 reliable starters right now and 2 guys you bite your fingers with.

I wonder what it would take to get Miguel Gonzalez from Baltimore?
