    • Is Torii trade-able?

Some have suggested he was injured during the end of the regular season and through the play-offs. This has been floated as to why his most active part of his arsenal was just his near constant speeches. We'll never forget his pivotal three run jack to start our sweep of hated Boston. But then other than mouthing everywhere he remained generally silent. Is he an Angel leader? Or not? If he was indeed hurt should he have told someone? Did he understand we did not have a better replacement? GMJ? Willits? So he shut up and played. Was he hurt? We'll likely never affirmatively know. Do you believe another team would enter into talks with the Angels for Torii? With his growing age and high mega dollars still owed are we stuck with him? Of course we have many greater problems than what to do with Torii Hunter. But IYO is he still trade-able? Or not?

Of course, he's tradeable. But, why would you want to trade him?

Maybe you have not noticed it but our outfield is glacial. We need to get younger, more athletic, and cheaper dollar-wise.

It would not be that easy to trade him, the Yankees if they were interested. The Angels overpaid for him, he should be OK next year, but the last two years of his contract will be tough, expect the Hunter bashing to start in 2011.

Really, how many teams can take on that contract? He is not as tradeable as you may think.

If it were my call and a reasonable deal be worked...I'd trade Torii in a heartbeat. He talks too much, too.

How do you know what the Angels "need" to do, Pab?

Do you know for a fact that the Angels want to get younger, more athletic and cheaper in the outfield, or is this just the wish of you and Saylo?

Seems to me that if the Angels traded Torii, they'd lose a heck of a lot of talent in centerfield.

Unless, of course, there are several Golden Glove-caliber centerfielders out there, just waiting to be traded.

Why would you trade him? The guy was raking before we was injured, even being talked about as league MVP. You could tell he was hurt a little bit in the end...everytime he dove back to a bag. You could see that the ab strain was still there, and probably the groin too. I wouldn't trade him

How about for Matt Kemp or Adam Jones? How about for Justin Upton(I know he plays RF, but I make that trade) ? Lots of talent at a much cheaper price. In two years all three of these guys will be better then Hunter and and none of them will be making 18 million a year, that's why none of those teams would make that trade. If fact Matt Kemp might be better already.

I just don't see where we would get our other attitude (which is key in the playoffs). Torii can get the team fired up and lined up. Even though he didn't light up the postseason, he still kept some of the younger guys in the game. Also, Vlad is no longer a team leader and Nap isn't ready to take it over yet.

We still need Torii and he's not a liability.

Torii talks and talks and talks and says nothing. Can anyone here recall anything his blabbed about?

Torii doesn't even talk a good game.

I want him gone this winter.

I can't see any team wanting to pick up a 34 year old CF, whose defensive skills have diminished greatly, and whose 2009 was far better than his career averages offensively, particularly when he's owed $55 million.

Just like you - a lot of us would like you gone this winter - neither is gonna happen.

There is about as much chance of Torii leaving this team or being traded this off season as Arte selling the team this off season. Man some of you people on this board are unbelievable. Maybe the angels can just get rid of the whole team and start from scratch. Crazy

For someone whose defensive skills have diminished greatly, Torii certainly plays a great centerfield.

It's ridiculous.

You'd think Torii was the biggest "problem" the Angels have and they can't wait to get rid of him!

"There is about as much chance of Torii leaving this team or being traded this off season"

Your right because no team would pay 18 million a year for a career .274 hitter with a OBP of .330. He was having a career year, you are going to be very disappointed if you are expecting more then his career stats from an aging player.

I personally have nothing against Hunter, but the last two years of his contract, you might feel different then you do right now. Like I said this was a career year.
