I'd trade all the young guys for available players over 30 years old.

Relax dude. You apparently don't know Saylo's preference of getting rid of anyone over 30 and constantly going with youth.

you are one of those that have a "pack mentality."

There is merit in having a younger, speedier team that does not wilt in September and October. It's the way things are...it's life.

Angels outfield is too old...are they TOO YOUNG in your mindset?

The outfield covered no ground in the playoffs.

I would definitely trade GMJ and Rivera, both don't really seem to strike me as good fits for the Angels. GMJ is just a waste of money and not a very good clubhouse guy, Rivera is too slow and I feel that Guerrero could hit just as many homers as him.

I keep telling you that there are teams that are younger & speedier out there. Like the Pittsburgh Pirates. How's their playoff aspirations looking to you?

It takes a BLEND of youth & experience. You take any Angel experienced player (your one track mind mentality) and want to trade him or release or not resign him as too old/slow/wilted, etc. By the way, not covering enough ground in the outfield was way down on the list of playoff problems. Your attack on age is a constant.

I was going to make a crack about the Pirates, until I saw that you already had.

You of course realize you're talking to a brick wall. As long as a player is young, he's good enough for the Angels (according to Saylo). I'm afraid he's beyond hope.

My whole initial comment was tongue in cheek but he's a bit sensitive today.

I have no prob with the infield...it is OK and will be even better in 2010.

My prob is the outfield. Abreu and Rivera wouldn't make a high school outfield. Torii has lost a step or two and will be noticed all the more in 2010.

I don't mind a veteran here and there..I agree...BUT the entire outfield is in their mid-30' s and are slow and tired.

Torii @$90 million/5 years is a painful joke.

It was pretty obvious that your comment was tongue-in-cheek. :)

Torii's contract was pretty high, but is wasn't painful at all. He's provided us with attitude and stellar play in center.

That's nice. You two can go off somewhere and talk baseball to each other since you understand each other so well. As I've suggested to Saylo, maybe you can go to the Pittsburgh Pirates board and discuss the eternal youth movement they have had to your hearts' content.
