Better to have played and lost in the playoffs than to not have played at all.

A losing playoff team team that consistently makes it to the playoffs, or a farm-team that is only an embarrassment to the league? Being in last place every year is okay I guess, the pain just comes sooner.

I shouldn't expect any class from you, you ARE from Oakland.

I would say farm system. I would much rather go deep with my team and through it all, teams actually knowing and seeing us as a team they know they will have to fight hard to break, than being a weak, constantly rebuilding team that goes nowhere, and isnt taken seriously except to buy stray players that would like to make it to the post season eventually in their careers.

Sorry, I' find with the A's, but you led it on.

So that's your excuse for coming last in the whole division? S*ck it up and just cheer on your team. Unless we have like 5x more than you, there's no need to complain.

Yeah mostly because the team actually has fans who go to the games and spend their dough.

The Athletics s.uck and that's all they and their half-filled stadium is made of. If you trash want your payroll then start going to the games more often.

You I hear Los Vegas needs a team. The As's don't even have a baseball field. they play in a football stadium.

This wasn't even "good" trolling. Lame attempt. Silly. Interesting things for both teams....lots of FA's for the Halos. I just don't see Lackey returning. Abreu looks like he wants more $$. Probably too much as I think the initial offer from the Halos was very fair. Too bad. He's a good fit and if Vlad gone as it seems, he can DH. So one more OFer. Do Bay or Holliday get a long look? Ultimately, Holliday stays in the NL, with the Cards, but Bay, very real chance he could be obtained.

If Lackey bolts, Weaver could slide into the "ace" slot, but I would guess another starter would be obtained. But who?

For the A's, if some of the above takes place, there's a shot the A's could make some acquisitions and make a run for it. Given that didn't work last yr, don't see it happening again. So ultimately, I'll have to guess the A's come back with a very similar club to what was seen in the 2nd half this season. I'd like to see em add Jermaine Dye and a vet starter. They'll give Chavez yet another try. I know I know, why bother, but if he can do anything, 20 homers? That's a big deal. 3 guys in the middle of the A's order than drop 20 homers isn't at all bad. Looks as there are some prelim talks with Duschcherer to come back and Kennedy too. Not a big fan of dropping a slew of money into Duke, but he's got the goods, however can he be healthy and mentally ready? That's the ? Kennedy will land back in Oakland.

I see you're crew as pretty active. Just a tough off-season for marquee players. Should be fun though.

Great run by your club. Given all that the team endured. Strong run, but alas, one of the teams I despise the most......

Go Phils.
