Arrested for a fight. He was "highly intoxicated" at the time. Got into a fight with some guy in front of a hotel in mid town. Assulted the guy.
Guess Dirks will be starting left for a while?
"Detroit Tigers slugger Delmon Young was arrested early this morning after he allegedly assaulted a man in front of a Midtown hotel, police sources told The Post.Cops were called to the hotel around 2:40 a.m. after Young, whose ballclub is in town to play the Yankees tonight, pushed the man to the ground, sources said.Young, known for his powerhouse arm in the outfield, was "highly intoxicated," sources said, and had to be taken to the hospital to sober up before being moved to a police precinct. The victim suffered scratches on his arm and was treated at the scene.
Young, who has had problems controlling his temper in the past, was charged with assault in the third degree and is in custody while awaiting arraignment.Young was first drafted overall into the Majors in 2003. He played for the Tampa Bay Rays from 2006 before being traded to the Minnesota Twins prior to the 2008 season.Young stayed with the Twins until last season where he was traded to the Detroit Tigers on August 15.In his first at-bat in the playoffs as a Tiger, he hit a homerun off CC Sabathia. Before joining the majors, controversy hit Young while playing for the Triple-A Durham Bulls. During a game against the Pawtucket Red Sox, he threw a bat at an umpire.Young has struggled at the plate so far this season, hitting a mere .242, with 1 homer and 5 RBI."
Dumbest comment ever.
That has nothing to do with this.
he's been hitting .242 with an OPS under .700 so far.
Like Inge, his performance itself is not the one main reason we are losing, but its part of it.
Sh*t, we're gonna get flooded with Yankee troll big time on this one. And they are probably going to all say something like "Miggy must have been with him".
"Miggy must have been with him".
That's what I was thinking. He probably wasn't alone.
Haven't heard anything else about anyone with him.
With the way news spreads in New York, we would have heard something about if there was.
First off, he "pushed the guy to the ground".2nd, "The victim suffered scratches on his arm"3rd, the article claims "known for his powerhouse arm in the outfield"
This is a super lame "assault" charge and the article is trying to make him out to be bigger and meaner than he his, The biggest issue is how drunk he was in my opinion.
Other than the bad press, this may be a good thing for the Tigers. We get Dirks or Kelly in left for a while and Eldred will fit right into open DH spot. For a few games this may actually help us.
<<<<< First off, he "pushed the guy to the ground".2nd, "The victim suffered scratches on his arm"3rd, the article claims "known for his powerhouse arm in the outfield" >>>>>
Were you there and saw this first hand?....
Its a new York media outlet so are you surprised that he's being made into more of a villain than the events portray?
Although, He's black so why did the media even bother reporting this?
I thought they covered this stuff up?
*lights political fuse and runs*
He's just pulling what was listed in the article.
<<<<< Were you? >>>>>
Nope...and that's why I'm not "splainin" what happened...
