How in the world can Jonah Schwartz and Bob Raissman of DN Live ridicule Brian Cashman for signing/trading for pitchers? Am I missing something here? Did he not just win a WS a few years ago? I have been an avid fan of DNL and I have yet to hear one PEEP about the Mets pitching failures!! i.e Oliver Perez, Johan SAntana, and the great Pedro Martinez. I wish these two clowns at SNY would stop hiding under the Wilpons wallets.

It's b.c the Yankee fans get angry b.c their SP is mediocre every year
(if it wasn't for their hitting and Mariano they probably wouldn't make the playoffs even with their $200M+ payrolls).

I think they are fair with their praise and criticisms for both teams. Are you a Met fan or a Yankee fan.

I didn't catch the segment. But I don't really understand what your grip is? Brian Chashman is the current general manger of the Yankees so he takes criticism for the moves he has made. Oliver Perez, Johan Santana, and Oliver Perez were all signed by our former GM. Why is it relevant to criticize the failures of someone no longer employed by the Mets?

"I have been an avid fan of DNL and I have yet to hear one PEEP about the Mets pitching failures!!"

Really? When did you become an "avid fan of DNL"? The reason I ask is because I most certainly have heard "peeps" when it came to Met pitching failures. They were'nt necessarily the ones you cherry picked, but they are there.

By and large, the SNY team has been pretty broad with both it's criticism's and it's praise. In fact, I was a little peeved that they had Brandon Tierney, who is a big Yankee fan, always on. As a Met fan, it annoyed me. You won't see Ron Darling or Keith Hernandez on a YES program any time soon, I'm betting.

Pavano, Igawa, Burnett, now Pineda. That is how.

"i.e Oliver Perez, Johan SAntana, and the great Pedro Martinez. "

Last I checked the guy who made those moves go fired. And I am quite sure that they question Omars decision at least on Perez.

Seriously, since when do Joey B. And the NY sports writers hold punches on the Mets? I actually applaud the Mets for have a "fair and balanced" network. YES is all pinstripe propaganda all the time, and forget about Dolan criticisms on MSG or anywhere else in NY, since he has bought out the majority of the NY media, as Frank Isola said about Dolan "be weary of those who won't say anything negative about him, and feel bad for the ones who can't"

Yeah and Kevin Brown too.

I remember Cashman let Pettitte go to Houston
and then said Kevin Brown would easily replace him.

Okay. I know this was a rant, I just don't know what about. :-/

My point was, if it was lost, was that the SNY team isn't afraid to knock their employers. That you hear criticisms about the Mets that you would never hear on YES about the Yanks.

There are, however, some on YES that are'nt cowed. Ken Singleton is fair and so is David Cone when he's there. Flarhety, I think that's his name, is also critical of the Yanks from time to time. But none is ever quite as critical of the Yankees as the SNY crew is of the Mets. Which is a CREDIT to SNY, not a detriment.

Bobby O is a bit of a homer. But I still like him.

Pug, Steve Somers is a homer, but we love him because he's one of ours. Bobby O., I think, is more fair. He has to be a little more careful because he's on tv, whereas, Somers is on the radio where we don't see his face.

Funny thing about this....I was "chatting" with a yankee fan the other day, and she was criticizing Mets fans for booing Jose (which I partially agree with). I told her to hold off on the criticisms...and to look at King Kong sliding into 2nd base after the go ahead run vs. Boston. And she's like..."who, my Swishy?" (I wanted to puke).
