Microsoft got sick of Comcast (shocker). NBC agreed to buy out the 50% Microsoft stake and have rebranded it to NBCNews.com.

Microsoft is going to start its own online news service.

Hard to say which is a bigger bane on our society- Comcast or News Corp. Both should just diaf.

I am sorry but they do serve a need, we need to have different
views, we only hear one side of anything and we can be lead down
the wrong path......I wish all the stations would give some air time
to the other side of the issue.....

They don't serve a need, they serve an agenda; as does foxnews but that isn't an excuse to do the same. Journalistic standards have been thrown out the window by both networks and yes, most of the time it is done as "commentary" or pundit panels but still, it's transparent that the agenda is more important than fact finding.

They are just talking about the website.

The cable station, as least for now, is still MSNBC.

I think that conservative and liberal voices are well represented from other, better media outlets, but even if they don't, the blatant ideology from MSNBC and Fox News is cancer to the greater national debate. Plus they seem to have all the same obsession with reporting on Lindsey Lohan and Paris Hilton and odd obsession with asking people on Twitter what they think that CNN also has.

I'm not sure what your point is, since Microsoft continues to make asinine business decisions. At the rate they are going, they will end up like RIM.
