Is this really the man you want to guide a rebuilding Astros team? Time to put that horse out to pasture!

I don't really think Mills is to blame for the way things are going so far. But, he will probably get axed anyway.

First, we are young. Real young. Second, the schedule has been tough.

The Astros have been playing the Rangers, Cardinals, White Sox, Dodgers, Giants, all hot teams or really good offensive teams. The schedule will play in favor of the Astros more as the season goes on.

I predict from this point forward in the season the Astros will play .500 ball. Being under .500 right now will keep them under .500 for the season, but I think they will play better and better as the season progresses.

Talent wise I agree who could win with this group.. But his decision to play old wash up guys over prospects, his inability to manage a bullpen, and simply his clueless decisions are inexcusable. I would like to see Pettini take over as manager.

I would like to see him use the shift less. You have a guy throwing 94-95 and they are playing the hitter to pull. When its not someone who's a dead pull hitter.

I am not a Mills basher, but he probably is history, especially when Luhnow brought Pettini with him from the Cards.

Our opponents after we face the Rangers this weekend will be as follows:

Royals
Indians
Padres
cubs
Pirates
Brewers

For the most part a very favorable schedule. If Mills can't get the team righted after this run, then i'm on board for his termination.

Bixler is in today's lineup AGAIN. Lefties on the bench against Barry Zito. 88 MPH fastball, and he has to sit the lefties.

Fire Mills.

Im sure Pettini will end up with the job in the offseason regardless. Problem is, Pettini doesnt sound thrilled over the possibility of being a manager. He said it was a big headache for him in St. Louis. So we'll see.

Im not gonna put alot of blame on Mills because he came in a bad situation and it just got worse. I agree Mills should leave, but mainly just because the Astros should start completely fresh next year.

I'm assuming that Mills will stick around until the end of next season. At that point the future will be looking a little brighter and we will not have piled up losses on a new manager.

He's managing a roster with some of the worst talent in baseball and a farm system that can't send a janitor to help and you figure it's his fault. LOL

I think we should start a Fire Whoever thread on everybody's company website, and see how they like it. LOL

What's this talk?

Fire good ol' Millsey?

Defenestrate the poor soul onto Crawford Street?

No, No, No.

Listen folks, he is the perfect fit for the type of manager we need during the next few rebuilding (losing) years.

Where else will the Astros ever find someone like Millsey, who can "Zombie" his way through the next few seasons.

Then, after we are "fixed" and competitive, probably in 2015, that's the time to go out and hire a manager with fire in the belly.

Give him a few decent players and watch the flames. It's hard to get excited when when your racing an Edsel with two plug wires missing, against a 1962 , 406 Ford with three deuces son.

Only way I would fire Mills is if we hired Scrap-Iron!

Seriously though, you can't get gold out of a pile of $hiz.

I don't care for Mills, but I don't think a new manager is going to net us more wins.

Give him the rest of the year and lets get a new coach starting next year.

Why not give him some players instead? He came here from the AL where he was the bench coach on two WS teams. Do really think it's his fault? He may or may not be a good manager but he should at least be given the chance when the time comes. I'm sure there would be some great choices lining up to coach this collection of zeros though and they would take us straight to the WS..
