The Blue Jays have that in the visiting manager's office, NOT at Joe's request. You have never seen Girardi with a beer in his hand, have you?

I bet most clubhouses have beer really. The Red Sox just got blasted by the media.

Yes but having seen pitches slipping out of Lester and Beckett's hands you know that Chicken Grease is involved.

when a team is winning no one cares is someone sips on beer in the clubhouse ... when you start losing all the things you did when you were winning can suddenly become "THE REASON" you are losing.

Just Stop! This idea that ADULT MEN don't drink beer (and other things) after games is just crazy. I have been around MLB players basically my whole life, and drinking is part of the game, I'm not saying they get S ht Face after the games (sometimes they do especially when they have an early Saturday game followed by a Sunday Night game) but drinking a beer (and other things) is the norm and it will never go away. Some of them don't drink at all, but not because they shouldn't or they're better than the rest.

What happened with the Sox is getting out of hand, maybe it contributed to the collapse if they were constantly doing it during the games and not taking care of their bodies, but to say now everyone should freak out if they see a beer in a club house is ridiculous.

Drinking a beer with a post game meal is a very common occurrence, even with the Red Sox the beer is only banned in the clubhouse for home games, not for road games and really the whole banning is stupid anyway because most people handle drinking a beverage or 2 without any problems...

I would tend to disagree that what happened is getting out of hand. It cost a good man his job and his reputation, it cost a team a chance at the playoffs, and it's made laughing stocks out of certain Boston players. So people are loathe to see it happen again and are going to extended lengths to make sure that it doesn't. It may not be the beer per se, but it's a part of the overall culture that contributed to the problem and people don't want to see it repeated. Just a new form of Political Correctness in this country.

"They don't have better taste than Bud light - OMG "

Why anyone would ever choose to drink that swill, is beyond me...

I'm enjoying Blonde on Blonde by City Steam which is local bar/brewery here in CT. Very Hoppy very excellent!

Speaking of that, I think redsox fans should petition to bring beer and fried chicken BACK to the clubhouse.....even the dugout. Can't hurt.
