You hate the guy so much but have nothing to say when they play horrible without him. Typical.

Face it, they need him in this lineup.

Can you atleast admit he's one of the best 3b in the game and he makes the Yanks better?

It's the pitching that's losing these games.

Chavez, in his 10 games since ARod was injured, has batted .321 with 2 HRs and 6 RBI and has been stellar in the field. That's about what we probably would've gotten from Alex in that span, if he was still playing.

But our starters and relievers have faltered, more than the hitting.

I'll be glad to see Alex back in the lineup, since Chavez is not an every day player anymore.

And what has Cano and Granderson done, which is who Alex affects in this line up, seeing as he bats before and after them...

Chavez has done a great job at 3B. But I still would love to see A-Rod in the lineup. He isn't *needed* though. Pitching has STUNK.

They're missing him....

Granderson - .176 average (dropped from .249 to .240) with 18 K’s and 4 BB’s. 35% of outs come on K’s and getting on base 23.6% of the time. He has 2 HR's and 8 RBI. Hitting a home run 3.9% of the time.
Prior to Alex going down he was batting .249 with 116 K’s and 54 BB’s...31% of outs coming on K’s. and getting on base 34.8% of the time. 27 HR's and 54 RBI. Hitting a home run 7.3% of the time.

Cano - .275 average (dropped form .320 to .313) with 5 K's and 1 BB. 9.8% of outs come on K's and getting on base 32.1% of the time. He has 2 HR's and 8 RBI. Hitting a home run 3.9% of the time.
Prior to Alex going down he was batting .320 with 58 K's and 34 BB's....15.3% of outs were coming on K's. and getting on base 37.6% of the time. 22 HR's and 56 RBI. Hitting a home run 5.8% of the time.

Teixeira - .194 average (dropped form .262 to .255) with 13 K's and 4 BB's (3 BB's in one game). 36.1% of outs come on K's and getting on base 26.8% of the time. He has 1 HR and 5 RBI. Hitting a home run 2.7% of the time.
Prior to Alex going down he was batting .262 with 54 K's and 41 BB's....15.8% of outs were coming on K's. and getting on base 34.4% of the time. 19 HR's and 67 RBI. Hitting a home run 5.6% of the time.

Basically...I see Tex and Grandy striking out a ton. And Cano just putting balls in play, but not very well hit. All in all, these 3 have combined for 5 home runs. I think Albert had 5 home runs last series. This is where Alex is being missed. These 3 are pressing and they are pressing hard. They are also not getting pitched to the same because opposing pitchers feel the hole in the line up as well...with the way these guys are swinging at everything, why throw them fastballs? Especially when Alex is nowhere around...

Funny how in 1951 it was all about the pitching and has been every decade since.

It's true. There's just so much slugging a team can do.

Watch....Swisher in the 2 hole and Grandy in the 6 hole will make this line up take off, then when A Rod comes back, everybody will be saying how he's just going to screw up the chemistry....lol...

It makes you wonder why Girardi had Grandy leading off in the first place. It's inexcusable when you have Jeter AND Ichiro on the team.

Past two nights Girardi left Nova and Hughes in too long. Now he pulls our "ace" CC too soon. Worst baseball instincts I've ever seen.

I thought Hughes game was better than it looked. He really only got rocked by Cabrera...which is IN the binder I hope, cause the stats and facts are ALL over the internet, like Baseball-reference. Besides Cabrera, he could have easily gone 6 innings, even with those 2 at bats to Boesch. What Phil needed was longer in between innings by his offense. He through 30 some odd pitches, then his offense went up and saw like, 8 or 9 pitches, then he went RIGHT back out there...that's where he got lost...Hughes pitched MUCH better than Nova did. Nova gave us no chance, not to mention was getting rocked by everyone in their line up. Hughes left giving up 4 runs, 3 of them by Cabrera...that could've been avoided in my opinion...

People dont understand what not having ARod means. Cano suffers because he gets nothing to swing at. ARod may not be what he once was but, the guy can still put a charge in it at any given time. He also plays a very solid 3rd base and he plays hard. The whole dynamic of the team changes with him gone. Need him back asap.

"Cano suffers because he gets nothing to swing at."

I looked back at the box scores, and Cano, for almost every game, batted BEHIND ARod in the lineup. So your statement really doesn't apply, does it? He would have to have been batting in front of him for your statement to make sense.

I'd prefer to learn to win w/o him.
