    • Took a trip up to BOSTON last night to see Fenway

Alright, so my friend and I took a 4.5 hour trip from Long Island to Boston yesterday to see Fenway in its 100th year. Let me tell you, the place is GORGOUS. I can't even explain to you how amazed I was. As a huge baseball fan, its something I had to do.

We don't have our Old Time ballpark anymore. After going to Fenway yesterday, I am extremely saddened. Fenway is just full of history.(if that makes sense) Every where you look, you just think of famous moments that have occured there. We don't have the history anymore. We have a Billion dollar stadium. Big deal. I'd rather have the old stadium back. Where it was the most famous stadium in the world.

Fenway is extremely family friendly as well. There were no drunk obnoxious fans in the crowd, and everyone was on their best behavior, which should be expected. We do not have that in the Bronx. I also happened to sit in the third level which is considered "bad seats". Let me tell you that these "bad seats" I guess thats what there considered there, are amazing seats. Every seat in the park is a good one. Where i sat, it was section 16 third elvel up right between home and first. Porbably the second levle at YS. I paid 50 bucks each for the tickets. YS its probably hundreds. What I'm getting at is that they don't kill you at all. Food was descently priced as well.

All in all, I miss the old Yankee Stadium more and more. The history is gone, with corporate greed. Fenway is an absolute gem, and i'd recommend it to any pure baseball fan.

When you say 3rd level up I assume you mean upper deck? If you do, there is no way it's $100 at Yankee stadium for those seats. I paid $90 each last year when they were playing Boston for 12th row lower deck between 3rd base and the foul poll on stubhub.

Now the 9.50 (maybe 10.50, i don't remember) shots of beer are a different story.

The third level up at a Red Sox game is basically the second at YS.

The first level like goes up three in a row. Its hard to explain.

Ok, see how the seats start after the field? The third level of seating is within that first level. It goes straight up. Im not talking about the second or third stories of the building

Talkin' up Fenway might not be popular here. I've never seen the new YS, just the old one. And it like Fenway was built way back in time. Back in the days of pocket watches. No one sitting there texting or non-stop on the cell (do those people watch any of the game?). I wolfed down some sausage thing from an outside vendor..God that was good. My cardiologist likes it when I say "H3ll, you can never have enough sausage".

It's good to see a game and enjoy it for the history and such. Baseball was what, about 77 yrs running before the NBA?

The place has history that new Yankee Stadium will never have. Amazing atmosphere for a baseball game. Reasonable pricing, and just overall awesome.

I live in New England, I go to Fenway 20+ times/year, not necessarily because I like the place, I just get to go to a lot of the games, I gotta say, the atmosphere was great when Pedro & Manny were there, it almost felt like watching a game in the Caribbean, those games are wild, but it hasn't been the same during the last couple of years (winning does that). But about the park, the seats are small, the place smells and there are a bunch of obstructed view seats basically all over the park. The only thing that's missing in the new Stadium is the Atmosphere, but the place is gorgeaus and you can't compare Fenway to any of these new parks that are around.

You are right, you can't compare Fenway to any of the new parks. But thats not what I'm comparing it to exactly. I sat down, looked around and thought of all the memorable moments that have ever happened there. BABE RUTH played here. There aren't many places left that connect todays players and him. I wasn't expecting to be wowed, or pampered. I wanted to see the old time ball park. That is what I was interested. Was my seat small? YES. Were my legs basically up against the seat oinfront of me? YES. But thats the whole point. Its an old time ball park that we dont have around any more. To go and say I was there, and in its 100th year anniversary will be special to me forever. The old time look and feel was to me just great. Thats what I wanted.

Well, the New YS might get history, but not in my lifetime. It was pretty cool watching the Fenway ceremonies on TV. Even if they lost the game. 1912 is a while ago.

I went to the 100 Year Anniversary with my 8 year old son and his friend....and watched the Yankees ruin their party. That was memorable. They had a can of grape juice on all the seats and had the fans took a collective toast, that was a nice tribute.

I'm a huge Yanks fan

What's wrong with going to another teams stadium?

It's the 100th year anniversary. I wanted to see a game there. Shouldn't be any confusion.

It's not me, I was joking about brawl, who jumps on anyone who dares say anything positive about anything Red Sox.
