When I grew up in the 70's, the game was played all for pride. I don't know if it was that I was a kid, or if it was before interleague play and free agency was just coming into being, but it seemed like a much more exciting event back then. Now, unless a Yankee is involved, it is hardly worth watching for me. Virtually every other sport has home field advantage determined by team regular season records. Leave it to Selig and baseball to try to be different and mess it up.

the more you mess with an allstar game the worse it becomes, I might just turn it off once our guys are done playing, its sad how this game will get less attention then NBA FA lol.

Homefield should go to the league that last won the WS. That way if you are the defending champs and you make it back to the WS, you get HF. If you don't than the teams that beat you there would.

Fans here have been saying this game determining homefield for WS is stupid for years now, not a single sole has ever said it was not, at least in the last 8 years I have been around here anyway..

I have zero problem with it. Everyone <bitches about it but yet there are no other alternatives that are THAT much better. Before this it was rotated every year... How is that more fair or better? You can't go by record because there is not enough basis of comparison between the leagues. That is the reason they used to alternate years. So the reality of it is that there is no really good way to do it.
