In a game making pitching moves .....That usually spells disaster...... Joe 's decisions never pan out

The Yankees have 2 complete game this year, so his decisions have panned out 46 times. Any other baseless statements you'd like to throw down?

He is falling in love with mixing and matching, its like he has to prove something to himself as this numero uno strategist.

I don't see how any of his moves this inning didn't make sense.

Looks like going to Eppley worked out brilliantly.

Eppley looked pretty good there. I would guess Joe's move worked that time.

Well its not that clear cut, their starting pitching got significantly better when they went on their successful winning streak.

Its not because Joe was mixing and matching, remember the Yankees were playing mediocre ball prior to winning 10 straight and taking off in June.

Its the length of the starters that changed things, not Joe maneuvering about pieces.

Care to back that up with any facts or do you just like to hit and run like the other trolls?

Rapada also should have gotten the K, but the ump didn't give him the call

Shut up ... I should have said in close games and used the word rarely .......

So before the starting pitching was good it was Joe's fault they were mediocre, not the starting pitching. But when the starters became better, it's despite Joe. Lovely logic. Girardi sans 2-3 games has done an excellent job with the bullpen this season.

I did not say or mean that..... I just think he has a black cloud over him in close games

You shouldn't have said anything. You don't look as dumb when you're not posting.

Phelps had thrown 81 pitches. He was still being stretched out when the injuries hit. I think he hit the pitch limit and needed to be protected. I don't think this bull pen, now with Qualls ( who was Wade like in Philly) can shut out anyone for 4.2 innings so this game is probably over.

No the contention is that you quoted 46 wins and I am saying that it is the starting pitching turning around that has pushed us to that mark or our record would be no better than Boston or Tampa, etc.

I am not taking any credit away from Joe, what I am saying is that it is simplistic to quote the amount of Yankee wins and then attribute it to the mixing and matching.

Where were we when the starters were not pitching well, Joe was still mixing and matching and we were muddling around .500 at best, until the starters became dominant for a stretch.

That's the point.
