very happy with what I'm seeing. More people need to acknowledge it.

What exactly do people need to acknowledge? You statement makes no sense. I mean we're happy that your very happy with what your seeing, but instructing people to acknowledge something is overstepping a bit don't you think?

Kind of like the one thread demanding that Hughes get respect??

Exactly. My only complaint about Soriano is that BUSH LEAGUE jerking of his shirt that he seems hellbent on doing everytime he's on the mound and the game ends. I really could care less about what amount of money he gets paid, thats between him and his employer. If he ever stops that affectation with the shirt though, I'll certainly acknowledge it :)

He doesn't have a convulsion fit on the mound like say Valverde, K-Rod, Papelbon, and many others so I can handle him untucking his shirt. The YES director could just not show him do it on camera and nobody would even notice.

Really, is it any more silly than all 3 outfielders converging and jumping into each other?

No but at least the 3 outfielders are celebrating. I agree that, much like when someone sprints onto the field, they could just not show it and it would lose the focus. I agree it isn't the antics of others you've mentioned, but I guess I hold the Yankees to a higher standard and the way it's done seems to be a defiant act of some sort. Case of if your not happy wearing a MLB uniform then why not find another job I guess.

There's one thing that Soriano routinely do that we(my crowd) don't care for, which has nothing to do with his great performance.
...is that when he completes his save, he rushes to untuck his shirt, each and every time.
okay... it's got nothing to do with the way he pitches. BUT, this is the New York Yankees.
And is the first class organization. The best sports team in the history of human kind.

If I were the key member of the Front Office, I'd tell him to wait until he gets off the field,
before he untucks his shirt. It's no big-deal.. But it certainly doesn't look "first class"

thanks for reading :D

I said this before but I will repeat it, I do not like the shirt pull thing, it is not my style but I can live with it even if I do not like it. However, if it is important to draw attention to himself for a job well done (i.e, his shirt pulling act) then when he blows a save he BETTER be there to answer questions and take the attention then too!

His history in the latter regard has been very poor, lets see how he handles himself in failure now too.

Girardi addressed it on the Joe Girardi show via an email question, but he didn't really answer it. He considered it like being done at the office and has no problem with it.

I see it like loosening a tie or something after work. Not sure why this one doesn't bother me when other antics do... such as those orgasms on the mound or screaming coming off the mound. I hate those choreographed handshakes as well...

Well Yanx, as I have long advocated here EVERYONE is entitled to their own opinion. And that includes Joe Girardi. One thing I learned a long time ago, just because 100,000 people want to jump off the Tobin Bridge up in Boston doesn't mean everyone has to go along with them.

Who cares if he untucks his shirt? LOL. As long as they win I could care less.

See, the trouble with clowns like you. It's either your way or the highway. Don't be looking in a mirror anytime soon, you'll be seeing what your accusing others of.

Doesn't bother me in the least that a fool like you doesn't like me by the way.

Soriano is not, nor will he ever be, Mo. But he has been very good. He has stepped in for Mo seamlessly and fulfilled a role that few others in all of baseball can.
