This is the part of the season where, having given fans hope, the Sox pull that hope away from the fans.

I pre-emptively gave up hope after yesterday's game.

Seriously, there have been a lot of bright spots this season, and there will be more, but I feel like it's mildly downhill for the rest of the season while the Tigs take over. Hope I'm wrong.

i figured this was a thread about how its time for the tank to pull through and lead us to a division title. Would love to see him got on a tear like alexie and start raking.

When it's from "thefalse11" you can count on it being pessimistic or a slam against the Sox.

Don't confuse realistic with pessimistic.

The Tigers are, if anything, only marginally better than the Sox.

The lead in the AL Central will probably bounce back and forth between the two with the outcome not decided until the last week of the season.

I expect the Sox to finish in first.

Ya gotta believe.

Why would I believe in Detroit?

Not saying you neccessarily should believe in Detroit. Just pointing out the extent of your own fantasy.

If you see Jerry Reinsdorf in a little room full of levers and switches, get a picture!!

The Tigers are not the team they were expected to be.

They have the same problems as the Sox; streaky hitting and inconsistent pitching.

Since the tigers are, at best, the equivalent of the Sox, only with poorer defense, mine is not a fantasy.

But expecting the Tigers to prevail may be.

the logic in that analysis, does NOT stack up.

That would be like claiming : "Since Bush was not as crooked as Bill Clinton, and the press has yet to detect any of Hillary's girlfriends, then Romney's the man!!"

With the Myers trade, and Crain and Gavin coming back, our pitching is better than Detroit, and our defense is much, much better. Our problem has been our hitting; Detroit is better offensively than the Sox at this time. If we can get better run production - mre than 3 runs per game, I think we can win the division.

Team stats show he's not really that off-base.
