AJP... 285 BA, 14, 45, 3 triples....should be an all-star
Viciedo... 255 BA, 14, 37 RBI...and playing decent in LF...very nice job by Dayan
AR... 249 BA, 2, 37, 9 SB...playing better lately
GB... 244 BA, 9, 34, 3 SB...hitting better lately and playing great defense at 2B
Dunn... 213 BA, 24, 58...Is there a more dangerous .213 hitter in baseball ?? He could be the Comeback Player of the Year in the AL. I hope he goes on a tear the last 3 months.
Youk... just getting started for the White Sox and should help the last 3 months of the season
Bench...Jordan Danks and Escobar could help down the stretch.

Pitching...

Sale...9-2 record, 14 GS, 95.1 IP, 68 hits, 5 HR, 24 BB, 94 K's, 2.27 ERA...I'm shocked by his performance in his first season as a starter. He's a Cy Young candidate.
Peavy...6-5 record, 2.96 ERA, 16 GS, 112.2 IP, 88 hits, 11 HR, 24 BB, 101 K's...I'm not really surprised by Peavy's strong performance to date. He's healthy again and should be even better next season.
Quintana...3-1 record, 7 GS, 2.19 ERA, 49.1 IP, 44 hits, 3 HR, 9 BB, 29 K's....Is he another Mark Buehrle? I hope so.
Jones...3-0 record, 2.97 ERA, 36.1 IP, 36 K's...bit of a surprise
Reed...4.18 ERA, 11 saves in 12 save opportunities...pleasant surprise for a young reliever
Crain...2.38 ERA but unreliable in big games
Thornton...3.24 ERA but unreliable in big games

Overall, I think we have to be pleased with what has transpired the first 3 months of the season. We have the lead in the AL Central and there's room for improvement once John Danks comes off the DL. However, it could be a fierce battle with Detroit down the stretch.

If PK gets hot the last 3 months and Danks comes back around August 1 and pitches good, I like the White Sox to reach the playoffs this season. We have to think AR, DV, and GB will hit better also the 2nd half. Anything positive from Quintana, Floyd, or Humber in the rotation will be a plus. I think the team depth will make a difference also. Youk or Dunn can substitute for PK and give him some rest to keep him fresh. Jordan Danks can play any OF spot to keep our OF's fresh. Escobar can play any INF position as well. The Sox are in good shape but should not get complacent. They need to stay in the race and wait for reinforcements (John Danks) to arrive later on. Hopefully, the relief corps can pitch better the 2nd half of the season. Just slight improvement on offense, defense, and the pitching staff could be enough to give the Sox the AL Central title.

I think kudos should go out to our young players...Sale, Viciedo, Quintana, Reed, Escobar, Jordan Danks, Beckham, Jones, De Aza, Santiago, etc....they're doing better than expected. They're age 28 or younger and doing a good job.
