    • The Emergence of Tyler Moore

This kid has earned a starting spot. He's starting to look very comfortable at the plate, and is being more selective (all 6 of his 2012 BBs have come in his last 6 games).

My jaw dropped after he made contact in the 5th yesterday, smashing the ball over 440 feet. It was a no-doubter, but I didn't expect to see it fly that far!

Bernadina is a fine player, and should be the first off the bench to give Moore, Morse, or Bam Bam a day off or to come in late in a game for defense. Ankiel is becoming a joke, and DeRosa should only pinch hit if needed.

Zimmerman coming back to form, Morse shaking the cob webs off, and the emergence of Tyler Moore could push this team to elite levels.

Moore's only had 47 AB's but hes making them count.. .396 OBP, .319 AVG, 3 HRs, 5 XBH, 3 SB, 8 RBI and 7 Runs.

He'll be fine. It's mental.. obviously not physical! His (hopeful) progression factors into the equation as well. LaRoche continuing to rake, and Desmond continuing his breakout season do too. I mean, every player does. Espinosa has started to turn things around, and Flores has started playing like it's 2009. I'm feeling very positive that this team will turn in to an average (at least) hitting team. thats all we need with our pitching.

I'm still rosy after last night's game if you coukldn't tell.

What happens if we sign a TRUE CFer in the offseason, which has been one of Rizzo's objectives?

"Ankiel is becoming a joke"

But ... but ... I thought he had a Great Job Patrolling Center Field For A Long Time!

Nothing...he's a 19 year old rookie batting about .275...He's great. What you think, he was going to hit above .300 this year? Even the mighty Trout hit below .250 in 40 some games in 2011....

He's got that raw power that Marrero does not have. If LaRoche leaves after the season, we should still be in good shape.

I am not an expert but when I saw Tyler Moore at Potomac a couple of times in 2010 he looked like he had quite a future and that seems to be coming true.

I guess they'll platoon him and Harper based on pitchers side.

Lets keep an eye on Anthony Rendon down in the minors and hope he gets healthy and stays healthy. If this kid can finally stay away from the injury bug we will eventually have a really good hitter who can hit well for average. He is a 3rd baseman soo guess we will see down the road where he winds up but kid can hit and he is pretty good in the field too!!!

One thing I can gaurantee you will not happen is Harper being platooned with anyone.

No one has forgot about Rendon but it's hard to keep an eye on a player who hasn't been on the field, and hence isn't progressing.

Harper's recent slide may indeed be part mental, but Davey has alluded to his back problems, and the devices he has seen the training staff using to get him right-plus he has now been scouted thoroughly by the rest of the league, and he's seeing almost everything away right now, and very few fastballs. Opposing pitchers have adjusted-now it's Bryce's turn-he will be fine as long as his health holds up.

The Kid is batting .278 and is an AB away from (what do you call it when you have enough ABs to be compared to the rest of the league? Dave? Bueller?), where he'll be 22nd.

Moore is as fun to watch as any of our guys. I really hope he gets some consistent playing time. He has earned it. I've taken to singing the MTM theme (at least to myself) whenever he comes to bat.
