Carp, I absolutely LOVED the Uriah Heep reference tonight. I guarantee no one else knew what you were talking about...one of my favorite bands back then! THAT'S impressive!

Hey Roger,

Just an FYI. You can express your sentiments to Bob personally by posting that in the "Ask Bob" thread here in the message boards. He frequently enters that thread to interact with us. Look for "bcmasn". That's him.

Just my two cents, but isn't time to start a fresh "Ask Bob" thread? 3000+ postings on the old one!
Or are we going for some kind of MLB record?

Well considering it is the most used of our Threads, I say let's talk when it gets to 10K. Check other frequented boards and 3K is just scratching the surface. It shows we are starting to have some longevity.

Hya latrey,

Yah, the ask bob thread is just a baby compared to the 2005 playoff thread which ran up to 10k+ in post. So, it's not like ya can get lost in it yet. ;~)

Same here Roger. (ROCK!)

I believe that is least the 4th time that he has used it that I know of. He does it roughly once a year.

(BIG GRIN) Ok latrey, ya typed;" feed the thread."

Cya around buddy...

PS: I would reply ta Bob, but he already said he didn't need some stat-head telling him what he was seeing on the field. Thus, vice versa on me part implies a counter for Bob's;" Veni, vidi, vici" remark toward stat-heads. If youse gets me drift? ;~)

Here I am, on another thread ... just perusing as Charlie, Dave and I await our 2:30 bus to Camden Yards. Just wanted to make sure no "stat heads" are offended if I say on occasion that we can overanalyze things. I'm all in on stats, observations, etc. that give us more insight into the game. Keep 'em coming ... you guys are great!

One more thing, Bob. If by some miracle the Nats are let out of their MASN contract, I hope Comcast, Fox, or whomever takes their place hires you to remain the Nats' TV announcer.

OK, another thing. Remember yesterday when one of the Nats reached second and the Rays tried to pick him off? You said something about "Let me enjoy the moment!" Well, many years ago---to be more specific July 28, 1980---Montreal Expo Ron LeFlore stole second in the 7th inning of a game against the Reds at Olympic Stadium. The scoreboard announced that it was the 115th anniversary of the first stolen base, and LeFlore "enjoyed the moment" as he stood just off the base reading the scoreboard. You can guess what happened----the Reds picked him off.

Hello bcmasn,

No offense taken my friend! Listening to Bob Carpenter and F.P. SantAngelo call a game is like sitting in ones Den on the sofa or at the Park with a bunch of buddies.

I guess the Stats are really boring by themselves, but the way that you two guys weave them into the game gives them a life and color which are quite enjoyable for we stat-heads. Thanks to you guys professionalism!

Cya around

Sincerely
