Bronson cant be traded or he is due the deferred money upfront so Bronson is a Red till his contract is over. All because Volquez pitched a 1 hitter in Petco park dont make that trade a bad trade. Volquez would not be doing what he has done this year if pitching in GABP.

If we trade Bronson we only have four Starting Pitchers.

The Reds have signed left-hander Will Ohman, according to Assistant Director of Media Relations Jamie Ramsey (via Twitter). The 34-year-old will report to Triple-A Louisville.

Ohman was released by the White Sox earlier this month after being designated for assignment. In 26 2/3 innings for Chicago, Ohman posted a 6.41 ERA with 4.4 K/9 and 1.7 BB/9. The veteran likely came to the Reds at a reasonable rate as he will collect on the $2.5MM owed to him on the backend of his two-year deal from the ChiSox.

Still acquiring cast off pitching. Why get rid of Arroyo? He st.inks for what he's getting paid. But even if he didn't have that virtual no-trade contract, nobody would be interested in taking over his $12 M salary. Old CW: Bailey as trade bait. New CW: Bailey is the #2 SP in the rotation. Regardless, we are in no position to deal ANY SP.

Signing left-hander Ohman is probably more of a sign of the status of Bill Bray than anything else. The Reds just want to have another LHP available in case they really, really need one.

From what I've seen, every team signs guys off the scrap heap.
