And 14 of the 20 are on the road. Also, the final 17 are played on consecutive days.

How many wins do you think we'll get? And as a tiebreaker, how many runs will we score in the 20 games?

The competition:
3 at CLE
off day
3 vs MIN
3 vs MIL
4 at SF
3 at LA
4 at SD

I predict 12 wins and 85 runs.

By the way this 11 game west coast trip is a rarity...we haven't even had a 10-gamer since 2006.

And the most recent time I could find where we played 11 straight in California was 1990. We went 3-8 on the trip.

Yeah, in previous years if we had a west coast trip like that it was a killer. Extend this lead as much as possible before then. I am going 11 wins, and 65 runs. Hope for better.

Indeed. 2006 is the most painful example in recent times. The Reds were 2-8 on the west coast trip beginning in late August to fall from 1 back of St. Louis (in fact tied them when they won the first game of the trip) to 6 behind, never to recover.

For anyone else who wants to throw in a prediction, please try to make your tiebreaker 5 runs or so different from other people with the same win prediction. No Price is Right-style B.S.

I think the Reds have been hot lately. This is usually followed by reality. I'm going to say 8 wins total (west coast will be tough) and 60 runs.

As a pessimist I'll go 8 wins, 63 runs.

Well I only see one team there that scares me: the Dodgers. I'll be aggressive and say 14 wins and 87 runs scored.

It all depends on which pitchers we face. Doubt if we sweep Cleveland again, but I won't be surprised if we get sweeps against the Brewers and the Twins, and it would be great if we swept the Padres too.

If we can win 2 against the Dodgers it will make a statement

I hate making predictions, but I'll play anyway. I prefer talking about what I see rather than what I imagine.

I'll go with 10 wins 59 runs. A .500 roadtrip would have to be considered successful.
