Sam Fuld is one of the bright spots in the lineup. since his returning he is batting over 300. Either he DH's more or plays ahead of Jennings at time. The rays hitting is awful and Fuld has a great On Base Percentage...that's what the Rays need.

I agree. I've been a full-fledged Fuld fan since Day 1 ... and I hope he gets a serious tryout as an everyday outfielder when and if Upton moves on in free agency. I think he can play left and center equally well (and definitely better than Upton in center).

My initial thought would be to put Jennings in center and Fuld in left ... BUT ... some of the scuttlebutt around here suggests Jennings doesn't want to play center ... so ... if that's the case ... I'd be happy with Jennings staying in left and Fuld going to center. And, again, contrary to the local scuttlebutt, I think Fuld might well turn into a solid .265 - .275 contact singles and doubles hitter if he gets to play every day. (?)

Besides that ... his personality, energy, and ability and willingness to continuously play with reckless abandon is a crowd pleaser ... it puts a positive and enthusiastic face on the team ... and, I'm sure, it provides his teammates with a real boost 9which they can certainly use).

I've always been for Joyce in right every day and Zobrist at second every day ... and if Upton moves on ... I'm all for Fuld and Jennings in the outfield every day. Beyond that ... I can live with Johnson at short every day ... and ... with Longoria being set at DH as much as possible ... I'd be happy with Keppinger at third every day ... with Wrigley being brought up to play first every day ... and Gimenez being brought back to replace Molina. Pena and Scott can pinch-hit ... Pena can spell Wrigley at first when appropriate ... and Rodriguez can remain as the utility infielder. That's thirteen position players counting Upton.

Fuld playing everyday=injury. He honestly can't hit, you are looking at a small sample size.

Fuld DH? Rather than Longo??......Fuld is what he is, a super guy, a team guy, a rah rah guy, a guy who plays all out, a guy who is a great addition to any team's bench and great player to have as a fill in, pinch runner, defensive replacement, pinch hitter, but as an every day regular Sam wouldn't finish the season at .240, have3-5 home runs, maybe, 30-35 RBI, maybe......Sam ios what he is and the Rays are very fortunate to have someone like him.....

He reminds me a lot of a guy we used to have with the Mets, Al Wiess....A 2B who could play all over, played the game hard, could hit a little, good runner, great defense, but just was not an every day player......He did okay when he filled in and became a hero in the '69 WS and in 1970 went back to what he was meant to be....a bench player!

ya i guess i can see what you're saying. and by DH i meant pinch hit. I just really like Fuld because he is a hustle guy and gets on base.

But definatly no resemblence to Pete Rose..Good all around bench player..
