It just makes me sick to see the Rays on the brink of sweeping the Yankees and feeling good about themselves, and then Joe Geek has to pop their balloon. After the clutch homer by Carlos and the great job by David this morOon has to prove he knows best. Love to hear the fairytale he tells the local media!! This team works their butts off and this is the thanks they get.

Absolutely unbelievable. Joe deserves some big time bashing this time...!!! Thanks to Joe, instead of being 4.5 out, we are 6.5 out. Everybody but Joe, saw that coming. He always has to make sure all the fellas get their turns to play...!!!

Joe Maddon is for sure, a good manager; apparently, he put too many eggs in one basket, with Farnsworth. Who EVER knew that Farnsworth WASN'T ready yet; he lost this game for Price, not selling the Yankees short; they are a good hitting team normally. Walks late in the game are bad news and risky. Farnsworth,coming off of DL, lost his touch; Joe knows that now, after said and done. Joe has been good about rotating his bullpen, one pitcher, after another, but Farnsworth let Joe and the entire Rays team down. What do you say, want to put Farnsworth on the block, for sale. No you don't, Joe stays...lol

Farnsworth needed some innings to get himself back to speed (both fastball and confidence with command) but not at the expense of risking a crucial game like this. Even with that, Maddon should have seen that Kyle wasn't quite right and move to avoid getting to the 4-walk point. Despite the anemic hitting (16 Ks) I put this loss squarely on Maddon!

Maybe ... but Maddon wasn't the guy pitching! Nor did he have the opportunity to watch Farnsworth's bullpen warm-up! Farnsworth ... and then the bullpen coaches ... should have been the FIRST to realize he didn't have it ... and either Farnsworth himself ... or the bullpen staff ... SHOULD HAVE REPORTED THAT circumstance to Maddon! Failing that ... Maddon certainly should have seen the handwriting on the wall during ... and most certainly after ... the second walk.

good points, but Joe and Dave and Hickey are right there, watching the game performance and should have acted long before the damage, realizing that Farnsy was still rusty from being idle so long....

Nobody in the dugout is focused on the close-up pitch-by-pitch performance of a reliever warming up in the bullpen ... although one or more of Hickey's underlings in the bullpen overseeing Farnsworth or any other pitcher's warm ups should be able to assess if a particular pitcher seems to "have it" or not ... ESPECIALLY a pitcher just off the disabled list after three months ... and that underling might be expected to call the dugout informing Hickey or Maddon of the circumstance! (???)

Obviously ... too casual ... too loose ... and no accountability.
