seen my old friend Carlos, can you tell me where he's gone....

Ok, I have read a few historians on here and also a few statisticians and liked the input, and I am interested to know if ANYONE had a solid career ( great no, SOLID) and then had 3 years of SUB 220 hitting with huge strikeout numbers and has EVER come back to the solid form.

Every one LIKES CARLOS, who wouldn't, just wondering if it this ever happened before- if it did I do not remember it.

John Kruk last season, baseball tonight: Carlos Pena doesn't hit singles, he hits only doubles and home runs
Chris Berman this season, monday night baseball: Carlos Pena walks, strikes out and hits home runs

Just a digression...

Maybe
Kelly Shoppach although I do not know his stats.

Can't answer the question, but here is a Rays Quiz for you:

1) Who leads the team in HRs?

2) Who leads the team in RBIs? (Actually 2 are tied. One has just joined the WOWZ** recently. The other has been there).

3) Who leads the team in Runs scored? (Hint: He also leads the team in walks!).

More hints: Leader on the field and plays great defense. Hit 2 HRs in the Yankee series, and has always put up big numbers against the Yankees and the East Division.

**The second player would be Luke Scott.

**WOWZ = Wall Of Whipping boyZ.

Now I'm just curious .... do you think the Carlos signing was a good deal???

But just look at the words to this question and don't compare him with other Rays.

You are too much in love with Carlos to give a realistic look at him now.any walks he gets are washed away by his ton of strikeouts and the men left on base and innings killed. I had favorite players when I was young and followed the Dodgers but I knew when they were dragging the team down. It hurts because I lived and died with these guys everyday. Carlos had his career years already with the Rays and won't repeat them. Hey he's not alone on this team as far as bad years.
