My sources on the inside have told me the Mets are about to announce the signing of Bourn. Not sure what's going on with the pick but I assume MLB has ruled it's protected, otherwise the Mets would not have signed him.

I'd LOVE for it to be true but he's only been around since December 10th and didn't have any advanced info on Marcum or Lyon. And he posted a trade for Dickey that turned out to be false. But it'd be amazing if for once somebody claiming to have inside information here actually did.

The two players are not similar at all. Cameron was an excellent centerfielder who hit for power, struck out alot and stole some bases -20 to 30. Bourn is a very good centerfielder, who steals bases - 50+ - and hits alot of extra base hits and strikes out alot. Bourn is a lead off hitter and Cameron was a #6 type hitter.

Bourn is not a superstar. That's why he's still out there. He is a major upgrade to the Mets lineup if Alex is right. He upgrades the top of the lineup and solidifies the CF defense in cavernous Citifield.
