If you believe that then you aren't paying attention.

Nimmo was a bad pick.

Rebuilding doesn't mean your farm is going to go from awful to awesome overnight. Most of the players Sandy has brought in are still in the lower levels of the system.

Sandy has been too cutesy with their number one draft picks. He wants to prove that he's smarter than the writers and he isn't.

I'm not going to kill them on their drafts because it's too soon, but it is discouraging that a whole bunnch of players taken after Nimmo are in the top 100 including at least two in the top 50.

I haven't done a compare and contrast, but Nimmo doesn't make this list and Brian Goodwin, an outfielder taken 34 as a compensation pick does.

Goodwin is also two years older and struggled when he made the jump from A ball to AA. Let's see where Nimmo is at when he's that age.

Goodwin in 22 Nimmo is 19.

Okay, so what? It's a prospect ranking and Scout feels Goodwin is a better player than Nimmo. There are plenty of young guys on the list.

You don't think they take age and how close a player is to the major leagues into consideration?

You don't really know what you have in low A ball, therefore it is difficult to project them as a top prospect especially when compared to guys in AA and AAA

I don't know. I do know the number one prospect on the list is based on what he did at 19 and the number 35 prospect, Bubba Starling, is also based on his stats at age 19 in A ball, so that doesn't seem to be the case.

Because these things are all just subjective guesswork. Truth is, nobody knows how any of them will do. Thinking these lists matter is silly. Guys have talent, or they don't. You can't measure talent, especially pitchers vs hitters, that exactly to say this guy is #5, that guy #8. It all means almost nothing.
