according to Mike Puma a "source" says Mets were not impressed with Brian Wilson's workout and say he is not ready yet, needs more time to rehab

and apparently Met talks with the D-backs about Upton opened and quickly closed when they asked for Wheeler in any deal involving Justin

well Wilson is still out there with no offers that i've heard of and coming off his second TJ surgery so i don't think there's any nefarious intent by the Mets there

and i'd certainly end discussions with Ariz. of they asked for Wheeler

"Fans must copy Mets Front Office and not spend any money either "

Even if we have money to spend?

Damm. Now I have to return that camera lense I just bought ...

"Well I guess we have more money to spend than the Wilpons "

Relatively speaking. No way could I have afforded DW's contract :)

"It's an absolute cover story to explain why the Mets won't pay Wilson. "

Didn't the story say that the Mets think he needs more rehab?

"Explain to me why I should believe them about this? Especially when they have sooooo much credibility?"

You don't have to believe them. But you disbelieve everything which is going too far in the other direction.

So you think, in order to "fool" their fans, they went to see him pitch then automatically declared him "not ready"?

Did any other teams watch him and pass judgement? If other teams said the same thing, there's no problem. If none of them said he's not ready, then I agree it's an issue.

"Yes, I do believe the ownership wants to "fool" the fans this offseason. "

LOL other than DW they're not spending (nothing to spend, which everyone knows), so who is being fooled and do you honestly think even the Wilpons believe they're fooling anyone?

Well, think about it: If he's still not major league ready after a second TJ surgery would YOU pay him...?

Apparently The Beard is in "low-risk, high return" territory in terms of potential salary, but if he won't acknowledge that then the smart owners' hands are tied. He's looking for that proverbial "one dumb owner" so he can get paid. We're probably looking at the March-May range before he signs anywhere...
