    • I think a cheap, sleeper option for CF is still Julio Borbon

from Texas....they have Gentry,Martin,Murphy,Cruz, and now Olt out there so Borbon would be their potential 5th outfielder

he's got a pretty decent ML resume even though he played all of last year at AAA simply because they didn't have room...

might be someone who we could get for a reasonable price

pretty solid if not spectacular CF/leadoff guy who won't be Arb eligible until '14

wouldn't be against it if we gave up nothing significant...

wouldn't cost us 50 million or a draft pick like Bourn would,he's only going to be 27 next season...i know i mentioned this before in another thread but i like the idea still

If we gave up DD/Kirk plus a low level prospect then sure...but not Mejia/Familia/Fulmer/etc....

they're looking for some bullpen help so maybe we could matchup there somehow...not that we're working with a lot of depth there but to get a starting CFer it might be worth a look

think they would do Familia + Franciso + Cash for Olt? Or how about Mejia/Familia + Flores + Francisco for Borbon + Olt?

No OBP. No SLG. There's no chance they want him.

I'm just kinda struggling to see why we should want him. Not seeing anything he's done that indicates he'd be a solid option.

Why the little playing time for the last two years? Always injured?

of course not, they've got Kirk and DD after all, accomplished CFers all,and almost as old as Borbon to boot....we're set

he's got some speed, can hit some, play good defense, and has done it at the ML level....if our options right now are Kirk and DD in center Borbon would be a professional upgrade who wouldn't be expensive and who we'd have control over for the next 4 years or so (or NOT depending on how well he does for us)

The guy has been inconsistent. Defensive question marks too. Idk.

he hurt his ankle in '11,but he played all season last year but in the minors and put up pretty good numbers

at 27 he's a couple of years older than Kirk and one year older than DD

he'd actually be Texas' 5th or 6th outfielder depending on Gentry's value so he might not be expensive to pick up in a deal....

obviously Bourn would cost us a ton of money and our first rounder so i'm just looking around for upgrades for us that would be inexpensive monetarily as well as trade-wise
