uh....NO. Why is everyone suggesting that we trade Ike?? He is pretty much our ONLY big power threat. He has 40 hr potential. If I'm trading Ike, I want a young slugger in return.

plus Arizona has Goldschmidt so they wouldn't trade for Ike anyway

who cares if you hit 40 HR if your OPS is .795

"who cares if you hit 40hrs?"

Really? Lol...first off who said his OPS would be .795? He isn't going to hit .220 again...

Duda was a 1b...you're right. That doesn't make him a good 1b defensively though.

well yea, I accounted for avout a .025 increase in OPS from last year bringing him up to about .795

but in all seriousness i cant see Ike really above an .815ish OPS, which is solid..

but we can trade him and get more than he's worth

40HR and 100RBI with an .815 OPS is not a real middle of the order slugger..more of a 6th hitter

word has it we can get a good deal for Ike

he isnt a future MVP candidate

You're absolutely right, his power means nothing if his OPS is sub .800

Hopefully he rebounds this season.

Maybe I'm being overly optimistic, but I think a .860 OPS is entirely possible for Ike

if he does that, I'd be extremely happy

I would love to have those 2 guys on the Mets, especially Eaton, but not at the cost of Ike.

"40HR and 100RBI with an .815 OPS is not a real middle of the order slugger..more of a 6th hitter"

if you hit 40hrs with 100 rbi, you are a 3,4, or 5 hitter....not even a question. How many 6th hitters hit 40 hrs last year?

"he isnt a future MVP candidate"

There is no way you could know that...if he has a sick year hitting .290 with 45 hrs, you don't think that would be MVP worthy?

Last night on here I suggested: Niese to Arizona for AJ Pollock (Leadoff LF/CF/RF), Adam Eaton (Bat 2nd LF/CF/RF) and Jake Barrett (future closer).

Too much to give up? Not enough?

I don't want to give up Niese either, but it's looking like we are planning to contend in 2015, with guys like Snydergaard, Fulmer, Nimmo etc. being ready or close by then, so I think I would trade Niese for a deal like this, if it was possible.

I hadn't thought about that actually. This does open up the trade market for Niese.

if Ike hit .290 with 45 HR he could win the MVP...assuming of course his OPS was close to 1.000
