Kc clearly threw all their eggs into one basket. Sacrificing the future for right meow. Dickey can still ace that staff. Would they do a package of Starling and 2 other guys?

Depends who the other two are.

We want a good young OF and C.

I'd like some a+ guys with top ceiling potential obviously, but Starling is gonna be a great player. Dayton Moore has until 2015 as gm in kc, so I know he's going for it all right now. I think we can pry Starling.

Yes I know it is horrible, but Starling is still there. Him with two guys with high ceiling for dickey would be a solid trade.

If you trade dickey for starling then you might as well trade wright. Starling is 3-4 years away

He's barely 20. He played 53 games and hit 10 hrs last season. The power potential is huge. He's 6'4 and was the #1 high schooler in the nation when drafted in 2011. He's probably 2-3 years away.

I hear you but, hes not 2-3 years away more like 3 ,4 with the the 4th year him starting that would put us at 2016, too long for my liking, I think we can find more speddy options, just my opinion

It would defeat the purpose of resigning Wright and do nothing to move up the Mets' timeline to contention. He wouldn't be my target either.

If that's the best available package that's what we gotta take. I'd rather have him than olt. We can revolve our entire team around Wright. Our Window isn't now, it's the future. Having him come up with Fulmer, Montero, cechinni, nimmo, etc. wouldn't be a bad thing.

I did not know that, Sandy has made it clear he is ONLY trading for major league ready players.

They can hang on to Dickey and extend him. It just makes no sense to resign Wright and then go out and make trades to push back their competitive window 3-4 years (when Wright will be more expensive and less talented). The Mets have some talented players coming up through the system in the next 1-2 years. Their goal should be to compete when those players are ready, not 3-4 years after when the low levels of the system have caught up. Besides if the Mets move Niese/Dickey they should get a couple high upside low A ball prospects on top of the main piece anyways.

I take it back, but we would need to expand on the deal, IMO
