Ardelin Rodriguez was not selected in the Rule 5 Draft

Last year Rodriguez (age 21), hit a combined .263 with 24HRs and a .321 OBP to go along with another 26 doubles. When he hits the ball jumps off the bat. He has prodigious power.

-As the year went on Rodriguez got better and better. His batting average and walk percentage both rose.

-He split the season between A and A+ and will most likely begin 2013 in A+ or AA and will spend most of the year in AA

-He is not known for his glove. Not great at 3rd but decent at 1st. He could possibly move to LF.

I am relieved. I would place Rodriguez as our #6 prospect

Would have been tough for a team to keep a 21 year old infielder who has never played above A ball on the 25 man roster for an entire season.

Caculated risk pays off for Sandy he figured no one would claim him as they would be hard pressed to keep him on a major league roster all year.

Do you know if we lost anyone?
