Trade Dickey straight up for Travis D'Arnaud

Trade Lucas Duda, Dominga Tapia, and Famelia for Shin-Soo Choo

Sign Scott Hairston 2 years/9m

Sign Ryan Ludwick 2 years/15m

10m to spend initially
-free 5m with dickey
-free 8m restructuring Wright's contract
-free 3m with deferals on Bays contract
= 26m

5m for Choo, 4.5m for Hairston, and 7.5m on Ludwick leaves us 10m

Spend 10m on a legit bullpen

-Flores playing 2nd in AAA

Lineup

1) Ludwick (LF)
2) Murphy - Flores ( in 2014) (2B)
3) Wright (3B)
4) Davis (1B)
5) Choo (RF)
6) D'Arnaud (C)
7) Hairston/Den Dekker (CF)
8) Tejada (SS)

Rotation 2013

Santana
Niese
Harvey
Gee
Mejia

Wheeler to replace someone mid-year

Rotation 2014

Harvey
Niese
Wheeler
Mejia
Gee/Free agent signing?

Key- Awesome bullpen.

Thoughts?

Ludwick is going back to the Reds, Choo that prices to me is very expensive for the Mets. The Mets don't want to give Hairston a 2 year deal. I would go with Dickey for either Curtis Granderson or to Texas for Olt.

Toronto has already said they wouldn't do that deal

it will take more than that to pry Choo away from the Indians (and he's going to make closer to 8-9 million next year)

that's a reasonable contract for Hairston

Ludwick will want more than 7.5 per year

i agree with keeping Flores at second in the minors

i do like the players you've tried to obtain i don't know if we have enough money and pieces to get them all however

The only deal i heard ruled out is Myers. Not D'Arnaud

Ludwick is holding off on resigning with the Reds

The name Curtis Granderson was brought up.

I think the Mets may lose membership in this federation... Depends on what you define as decent, I suppose.

maybe you're right there's been so much stuff rumored around but i thought they wanted more than just Dickey for D'Arnaud

would you believe that according to MLBTR the Mets and Yanks spoke briefly about Dickey? but the Yanks didn't have the pieces

It's actually the Federation of Decency.

ugh...no to Granderson. His hr total would drop a TON at CF but would still K 200 times.

Olt not really a good fit for us if we're keeping Wright and Davis

i thought we should deal Dickey to the Rangers for a package including Olt and deal Davis for more pitching but alas not much happening on any front

Olt is a third baseman/first baseman who's dabbled (3 games) in the OF in the minors...why pick up a young kid only to play him out of position?
