I don't know how he is defensively. But he's a real solid MLB hitter. Depending on what it cost, I'd be very happy if he was one of our OFers.

I am not to crazy about him. But he is a Big improvement compared to Torres.

Hart hits WAY better at home at hitter-friendly Miller Park than he does on the road though. Don't know how well he'd hit at Citi.

Hart is in the final year of his 3 year deal and is set to earn $10M in 2013.

I can't see the Brewers trading Hart away for a low-mid level prospect. And I can't see the Mets trading a MLB ready prospect for Hart for a one year rental, or offering the kind of contract extension he will surely be looking for.

In other words... don't hold your breath on Corey Hart being a Met.

So if the Mets and Brewers are talking... hopefully it's about Jonathan Lucroy.

Brewers would be dealing Hart in order to free up payroll.

Good news is we could get a first round pick for him after the season.

haven't heard anything on this but

1) brewers trying to save money to make a run at Josh Hamilton
2) we could trade some lower level pitching prospects
3) what concerns me are his home/road splits

Last year:

22 HRs at Miller Park, over .300

8 HRs, .241 on the road, with18 more ABs

I like the Lucroy/Hart idea... but I don't see the Mets bringing in Hart. After this season he's going to be in the $12-$16M range.

I vote no. He would get in the way of better options, both external and internal.
