Thank you, sir voice of reason.
Remember how stoked everyone was when Collins was hired? He's firey, he won't take anybody playing less than 100%, etc. ESPECIALLY after an ineffectual Jerry Manual and his annoying, "Aw shux, whatcha gonna do? Think I'll go back to my whittling now" approach. Two polar opposites. Two vastly different managing styles and personalities. SAME results. What does that tell you?
I'm not saying Collins is great, but you rarely get blood from a stone in baseball, let alone a winning season from a collection of low budget bottom feeders. Ownership gave him little to work with, then they told him he wouldn't get any help by trade deadline either. then he's got to go in front of the cameras day after day and talk about why his team can't win. It's got to get tiring after a while, especially when he's being asked (in so many words) to work with what he has 'cause he ain't getting anything better.
